Damons is Yummy and fast
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/17/09
I visited Damon's for the first time today and had a turkey club on wheat (my fav). As I was ordering I was thinking about how many employees were behind the counter working and as the orders piled in I could see why. They all seemed busy and it was obvious that they cared about getting you in and out, if need be on your lunch hour and I appreciate that. I'll be back. And P.S. the club was very good.

Damon's is ok. I've always got good food here. Staff is decent and lots of room to eat inside. Better place to eat than a lot of the other swill buckets around here....

I've traveled far & wide...

I grew up here in Augusta, but now live out of state. I've eaten all over the country -- and the only other place &'ve ever had pizza approaching Whipper's/Damons was in Nashville, TN -- New Your Style and it was pricey! So there I am - eating my expensive pizza and thinking "Wow -- I could have had Damon's"! Furthermore - it's not a big secret that their bakery provides a nearly endless wholesale supply of italian bread rolls to other establishments , etc -- the likes of which can't be obtained anywhere else at any price. While it's true that they hire a lot of high-scoll age help; -- it's also true that they're helping younger people get some financial footing & assisting w. real life's lessons about career choices. While the owners are devoted to their faith -- I also know that they are very non-discriminatory, accepting people. No trip back home would be complete without a trip to Whippers / Damons.

Are you serious???? Or just crazy! What is wrong with you? The people there are wonderful-all of them! I have never walked into that place and seen anything but happy, helpful employees. I am not sure which ones are the owners but EVERYONE that I have ever spoken to are great. Are you a past disgruntled employee who just wants to get back at them? Because I can't understand your negativity towards a great establishment like Damon's. I can walk in there anytime, by myself or with my whole family and I or we are treated like family. Most of the people are now starting to learn my name which is especialy nice but they wouldn't get the chance to if the service was ever bad. But this place is just great. I can walk in, order what I want, and have it brought right to my table and I can say that I leave full and happy everytime I go there. The prices are reasonably priced for the amount of food. For example: I can feed my whole family for less then $25.00 And the best part of that we are full, happy, AND we have leftovers. No we don't all order the same thing or just share a pizza. I usually get a steak and cheese, My daughters will share a pizza, italian or chicken basket-sometimes shrimp. And my husband will get an italian, steak and cheese, or a basket of his own. Oh and the chicken noodle soup is the best around, thats my favorite but my husband loves the chili. I couldn't imagine saying anything bad about Damon's. The place is great!

Someone needs a nap.

I'll still eat there, even if they are Christians. I think that they have delicious pizza, and it doesn't taste like plastic (like some of the franchises around town.)

No one should eat at Damon's, ever.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/27/07
I found Damon's to be an untrustworthy and offensive establishment. The woman ringing us up asked, "any tips on that?". We were ordering at a counter, not being served. Who would we be tipping, and for what? It is an attempt at guilt-tripping when someone asks for a tip, and I think it is distasteful and wrong to do so. They then charged me a dollar and some change more than what I ordered plus tax. I looked all over the menu trying to find something that would add up to that extra charge, even something indicating that the glasses for water were not free, or cards had an extra charge. I could not find anything to account for that extra money. Also, while checking the menu for an indication of that charge, I noticed it said "GOD IS LOVE" on the back of it in giant capital letters, quoting "Matt" and some number. First on that, there is no Book of Matt. It's "Matthew". They had plenty of type space left, at least get it right. Second on that, I find it offensive to even see something like that in a public place. If you want to have that on a bumper sticker, go ahead. If you want to run a public restaurant, leave it outside. Public places should not shove one religion in people's faces. If you want to put up phrases from multiple world-wide religions, fine. If you want to mention no religion at all, fantastic. But don't shove yours in my face.

if you like pigheaded men....
By nick, 11/1/06
then definatly go to damons. the morning crew durring the week is awsome...i really like ann she always makes me laugh. i am kind of digusted by some of the rude remarks i hear from the men out back cooking. they have no respect for women, commenting on how a woman looks to eachother, not even trying to be descreat about it. they treat alot of their employees rudely also, getting angry with some right in front of the cutomers. the evening crew is sometime rude, especialy if i notice they have made a mistake with my order...what happened to giving the cutomer what they want? The owners son (doug) dosnt seem to know what he's doing half the time. some of there food is very good, but not good enough for me to go back anytime soon
