Well Cheddars has been my favorite place to dine for 2+ years now. I went there on July 4th with 3 others at 6:45 PM. While following our server thru the restaurant to be seated I noticed the entire room was filled with thick smoke. One of my friends asked our server about it and he responded very rudely that there was probably a fire while cooking in the kitchen. Our meals took much longer than normal to arrive and when they did, they were incorrect. From that point on, he (our server) was incredibly and very unnecessarily rude to us. I won t go there again,we were all extremely disappointed. The same friend had become ill (food poisoning syptoms) for the entire next day.....I have to wonder what was in her food ???
I ate here with 3 others on Tuesday April 7, 2009. Very friendly, the waiter was very nice and took our orders quickly. My problem was the food. Starting with my drink, I ordered ice tea with lemon. It was so weak I had to change to a Coke. I ordered first the tortilla chips with salsa and cheese dip...very good. We all shared and cleaned the plate. For my main I ordered the chicken quesadilla and tried the potato soup. The chicken was overcooked and very dry it came with some shredded lettuce on the side but needed the good salsa that was with the chips. I didn't finish that. The soup was very tasty but I had to search to find the potatoes. The prices were very good for lunch. My first visit here but it wasn't what I had expected based on what I had heard.
We have been dining at Cheddars for several years; ordering the spasagna and hickory smoked baby back ribs. We have notice a slow downward trend in quality. Today will be our last meal with Cheddars for sometimes. It is a pity since we live so near!
Comparable to an Applebees or a TGI Fridays. The food is excellent, much better than the competition though. This is my favorite casual restaurant in Lexington. The atmosphere is nice, and the design of the place itself is interesting, see the large aquarium and the fan room. I would highly recommend it for a casual date night or a night out with your friends. A+
I love the fact that Cheddars has opened a new location, their menu and prices are very reasonable. My only complaint is that the new one on 1/1/08 at dinner was under-staffed so the wait was longer than expected and the wait for food was about 30 minutes. I also wish that the new Cheddars accepted carry out orders. I hope this is in the works.
Unless you simply hate all generic American chain restaurants you will like Cheddar's. The restaurant is clean, the service is fast and friendly, the atmosphere is pleasant (I like the giant fish tank), and the food is very good for what it is, simple inexpensive American fare. Prices are terrific. This restaurant’s virtues have not gone unnoticed, and it can be difficult to get into at peek hours. Fortunately, a second Cheddar's has finally opened in Lexington and hopefully that will take some of the stress off of this one.
