Buck's Restaurant, Louisville

When you go out for fine dining you expect to see three characteristics. Good food, great service and a comfortable ambiance. Bucks is 5 stars or more on all accounts. We recently ate there with a party of seven. Each one ordered (not by design) something different. From the appetizers to dessert we were all very pleased. Couple this with a beautiful setting and music by Rick Barlett. The service was exceptional; we felt as if we came there every week, they treated us with such service. I am originally from Chicago, and go to New York regularly. Bucks is right up there with the best anywhere.

Buck's came highly recommended but didn't deliver on any of the basics. In fact it didn't deliver at all. The service was uninspired, our waitress couldn't have cared less if we dined or not. To start off we ordered mint juleps- no fresh mint we were told. How can this be!! This was foreshadowing to the worst meal I have ever eaten in my entire life. The mussels were over cooked; the crab cakes were dry and bland. The stuffed NY Strip was stripped alright, stripped of its entire flavor. The asparagus was stone cold and raw. The seafood grill entree that was over cooked and dry with a beurre blanc that tasted like it came from a can. I would not recommend this establishment to anyone. We returned our entrees to the kitchen, paid for the drinks and appetizers and left the Restaurant. A true kitchen nightmare. Gordon Ramsey - Buck's Restaurant needs your help.

Wonderful! Elegant creative atmosphere. Amazing food and professional wait staff. A great place for a romantic evening!

I have eaten at all of the fine restaurants in Louisville. Buck's is by far the best - 1st the floral arrangement and inital scent is unmatched, 2nd the staff are adults with years of experience and know any question you could possibly ask, 3rd the food tastes suberb, 4th if you ask to alter a food request - no problem, 5th the setting and the pianoist is awesome and warm. There just is any other place in Louisville that matches all of these qualities in one setting... Oh ya the customers have been devoted for years.
