You guys are ridiculous. Little Tokyo DO have refills, and they have a sushi bar full of 12+ chairs, four+ tables, and 8 booths. Open your blind little eyes. Long waits, but what can you do about it? That's pretty fast for an average of 30 rolls to make within 5 minutes by two guys. The sushi here beats the ones in California! Great servers/waitresses. The restaurant staff treats everyone like family! If you don't like the food, it's probably because you don't like Japanese food in general. Stop hating and saying stuff out of your ass.
the wait was over 45 min for a to go order. with only 3 tables inside. people were nice. sushi was ok wasnt real excited over it. it looked really good. I don't think it was good enough to return for me.
I am so surprised that this place has been able to stay in business as long as it has because of the lousy service. If you call in an order and they tell you 30 mins., you better give it an hour. The sushi is good but seems to get smaller (rolls) everytime i go. I don't go often because i lack the patience required here.
I guess I just really miss being able to find good sushi locally, because if this restaurant were anywhere but the middle of such an incredibly rural place, I wouldn't give it the time of day. The food is passable, not particularly good or bad, and the prices are average compared to a mid-level Japanese restaurant, but the service really drags the whole place down. With no one else in the restaurant, why does it take 45 minutes for sushi? And no refills for drinks, either....
Overall, I'll go back because it's the only traditional(-ish) Japanese restaurant in the area, but if they had any sort of competition, I'd give the other place a good, long look before coming back here.
Service is horible. No refills and long waits for food. Expect a 2-3 hour wait for sushi. Sushi is fair. Definatly not worth the wait. You can drive to starkville and eat good sushi and drive back before you would ever get food here!
I know for a fact that Little Tokyo brings live clucking chickens to the back in their kitchen and kill them where all of the food prep and cooking takes place. This is a serious health code violation.
It is very true that you have to wait an hour to two hours on sushi. Sometimes it is because there are tons of people, sometimes it is because one of the owners is too lazy to get up from his nap in the bedroom at the back of the restaurant.
The food is tasty, but the service is so-so.
I suggest saving your money and your time. Do not eat at this establishment.
