The Dinner Bell was a great disappointment !!!! They had a few things that tasted ok at best. The chicken and dumplings were terrible and squash even worse if that is possible. Jiffy mix cornbread would have been better than what they called cornbread. They sit to many to a table and food and service is not woth the price. Will not eat there again
I live within 40 miles of The Dinner Bell on the Louisiana side of the line. I've probably eaten there 12-15 times over the last twenty years and the only complaint I have is they press about 18 people around a table that would comfortably seat 14. Like sardines even if the other tables are open. Good home cooking and nothing fancy. The chicken and dumplings are usually a mass of yellow liquid with little meat. It's okay.
If you're in the McComb area and are looking for a home cooked meal, the Dinner Bell is the place to go. Set down with a dozen of your closest strangers and feel like you're in your grandma's house. Where I come from, it's cornbread and chicken...
For a unique dining experience in the McComb area, you can't go wrong with the Dinner Bell. With friendly people and great Southern style cuisine, it is one of the most popular restaraunts in the area. The biggest thing that sets it apart from other dining experiences is the way the food is served. It gives a whole new meaning to round table.
