Never judge a book by its cover is all I can say about this place. My family and I were on vacation in Biloxi this past weekend and decided to try this restaurant. Kinda nervous when we first pulled up but decided since we had already made the drive we would stick with it. SO glad we did! The food was great and the service even better!! We had a large party of 16 and not a single order was wrong or drink ran dry. They did an awesome job. Would recommend this joint to anyone!!
I had lunch there today, 08/31/2010 and the buffet looked so good, so that's what I decided to try. The plates were dirty, I could see and feel dried food on them, after going thru 2 or 3 plates I found one acceptable. I absolutely love catfish and was glad to see it on the buffet, that's the main reason I choose the buffet, It was absolutely the worst buffet I had ever tried, yes I said tried to eat. After two or three bites of the red beans and rice, they tasted so nasty I couldn't eat them, the fried catfish was cold and not seasoned at all and the only other thing I tried was the macorooni and cheese, disgusting. When the waitress asked if everything was okay, I told her about my bad experience, she really didn't have much to say, Upon checkout when the cashier said food was good huh? I told him also that the food was not good and I would not be eating there again. He had the nerve to actually laugh!! What an idoit, when a guest complains you should not laugh in their face. My experience was a very negative experience and with the cashier/possibly manager laughing about it, I don't see how they can stay in business. The least they can do is present clean dishes and utensils to eat their nasty food on.
my husband and I has eaten at this place about 2 times in one week the food is really good, it's nothing fancy but the food is good!!! you get enough and the price is right. I used to go to New Orleans to get a good seafood platter since I have been going to Port-O-Call i dont need to go to New Orleans, I have eaten seafood at a lot of different places on the coast this is by far the best!!!!
This IS NOT a fance spot, but nice and clean, fine service and great food at the best price on the coast. Today we ordered two stuffed flounders and a shrimp salad. I asked for my flounder to be lightly cooked, not only was the fish PERFECT, but the baked potatoes were just right too. Most places over cook baked potatoes and dry them out. When we have visitors in town, we ALWAYS take them to Port O Call and have NEVER been disappointed... Maybe I shouldn't write this, so we can keep this well established secret off the beaten path...
Had lunch there at 1pm. Not crowded and service was good. Ordered their Catfish Lemoyne which included two catfish filets (fried), white rice smoothered with a shrimp cream sauce, toasted bun and the salad bar. Our order was served hot in a timely manner and the catfish was very tasty with the shrimp cream sauce. Cost was just under $9.00 plus tip. This is a family business in the D'Iberville area and is in an out of the way area. Parking is free and easy access to the entrance. They also have a buffet. I would recommend this to my friends.
