I used to work at The Shed and it s not as great as people say or think it is. The #$%$ was over priced in the first place but then they jacked the prices up some more cause brad and brooke are soo money hungry. In my opinion the sides are better then the meat and etc. Another thing, when going out to eat who wants to sit basically outside and sweat their #$%$es off.... not me. The flies are horrible. The atmosphere there is great and so are some of the people but there s alot of other bbq places way better with better prices. The main thing to set that place off is their blue s music but besides that i don t get what s so great about a small #$%$ restaurant that serves you small #$%$ty portions and makes you sit outside with no fans or nothing. Not worth my time and wasn t worth my time or pay when working there. They say your part of the family when your really not and they could care less about you. That place is ran by #$%$.
Stopped on Saturday afternoon on way to New Orleans, not my first visit, but maybe my last. With all due respect, this is constructive criticism. The potato salad is like eating a mouthful of mayonaise. The coleslaw was too finely cut and totally dry. The 2 pieces of bread were ice cold and damp. The portions definitely got a little smaller and the prices went up. The chicken was fine, just too small of pieces, the ribs were full of fat and grisle. The shredded beef was fine! Sorry but after this happening several times, I do not think it is a good value in any way.. If I get a positive response from the owners, I will drive over again and recommend it accordingly
CHARLIE IN METAIRIE
One of the best, with atmosphere that is like from the movie Wild Hogs. Very cool place and relaxed atmosphere. Super busy, but worth it. Family ran and they do a great job making you feel at home. Highly recommended and has been on TV with excellent reviews from top chefs.
AAAHHHHH BBQ Bliss!!
Canned sauce your crazy!! They make the sauce in a 50 gallon pot every day! Watch the Food Network,Travel Channel,Regis and Kelly,Diners Drive ins and Dives much....They show how everything is made ..

The wood burning smoker has got to be huge. They are always packed.

Thanks so much for this information. I was really concerned that maybe you all didn't survive(business) with the big hurricane that came thru your area but I see you did and I'm really happy to see that you all are doing well. I and Miyoko use to camp at Journeys End before Miyoko passed away Jan 2005. I'm am now remarried still have my motorhome but unable to get away since my new wife(Gladys) has here own business and keeps us close to home. Say hello to the gang for us. Lov Karl and Gladys

The thing I like most about the Shed is how unconventional it is. You order at the counter when you are ready, and they take to food to you, calling your name of course. They make you feel like a part of their family. It has a very southern feel and a very friendly atmosphere. You aren't constantly badgered by the waitresses to pay your check and you can take your time enjoying your food. The blues bands they have there every weekend are always great, and whenever my family comes in from out of town I always take them to the Shed. Great job guys!!
Atmosphere is the BEST..food phenominal...this Ohioan will do her best to come back!! We were there on Labor Day 2010 from what we were told it was the busiest they have ever been, got throw quickly, everyone was Nice, pleasant and smiled the whole time there were there! Loved it!
Not impressed with the Shed. You have to park in a dusty dirt parking lot. Took my dad there for lunch. Walked in the door no one greeted us. It was like they could have cared less if we were there. We found a close table and sat down and waited, and waited. I finally managed to flag down a waitress and asked if she could take our order. I was told we have to walk up to the window and give them your order. What kind of service is that??? We ordered the cheapest thing on the wall mounted menu. We got a couple of their WORLD FAMOUS pulled pork sandwiches and an ice tea. The taste was pretty good but the service was bad and the cost was over $20. It wasn't worth the price for a lunchtime sandwich.
