Great food and relaxing atmosphere!
The food was great! We had pulled pork sandwiches with sides. The black bean and corn salad was the very best. The slaw and baked beans were both very good. The mini pies are a nice end to a great meal.
We really enjoyed the decor and especially the "What We Love About the South" wall. The waitress said that some people actually had to stop and decide if they were a sow or a boar before entering the restrooms.
We'll definitely return during Pilgrimmage '11.
Ate here twice over the week. Really good both times. Food is over priced a bit but it is really good. Do not, I repeat do not order the corn on the cob, it is the worst corn I have ever eaten. Besides that everything is great. I would recommend this to anyone visiting Natchez.
I have dreams of getting to Natchez and having some real barbeque. It has been far too long (and this is from a native Texan).
Anne Vidai sent me a care package of brisket when I first moved up to the Great Northwest and I had to threaten greivous bodily harm to my work group from the field when my secretary signed for the package. They really wanted to open it up, and by the time I got to the office a few folks had passed out from sheer aromatic overload.
The entire archaeological staff of the US Army goes glassy eyed and starts drooling at the mention of the Pig Out Inn, and many cross country trips through the south are re-routed with the express goal of hitting Natchez during dining hours. I know for a fact that tthe Brass at Vicksburg District and the Waterways Experiment Station put in orders whenever any employees pass through.
And, it's a designated stop if they are showing off for guests from outside the region.
I myself am considering accepting a position in Little Rock, adn proximity to the Pig Out Inn figures prominently. Lord, I'm going to salivate into the keyboard
The name says it all lol I love BBQ and, this is one place I will travel to eat at. I usually get the Ribs and, Pork n beans they have a wonderful real BBQ smoked flavor you won't be disapointed
My husband are Memphis Barbeque Assoc judges for the past 20 years. Bar none this is one of the best we have eaten at any contest. Imagine right here in our own backyard. Go Pig Out Inn!!
