Spankie's Bar, Cookeville

Not sure why some below say the staff is lazy or inattentive. They are always on their toes whenever I'm been there. Drinks are priced fairly and they don't skimp on ingredients. Food is awesome, large portions and never a disappointment. My fav is actually an appetizer - salmon with toast points and capers. Salads are not to be missed.

I am also a huge fan of spankies!! Chicken spankies is the best! i however must admit that everything there is great. I can't get enough of the bread. Great place to hang out and have lunch with a friend.

The Cheese Bread is excellent!!! Good food at decent prices. This is where the locals come to eat and drink.

Before they put the bar in, it was a convenient inexpensive place for students from the nearby college campus. Now I would recommend only to barhoppers. The food now costs twice as much without increasing the portions. The servers seem to not care whether or not they get a decent tip, so I don't waste my time or money on them anymore.

Spankie's is a small restaurant that has a comfortable atmosphere and great food. The servers are attentive but are relaxed in that they are not trying to push you out the door or coming to the table every 5 minutes and breaking your conversation. There is a big-screen TV in the main area and a smaller TV at the bar and both are usually tuned to a major sports event. Spankie's also has an outdoor patio area that is covered during the winter with seating as well as live bands (call for dates and times). The patrons of Spankie's are a mixed crowd consisting of mostly college students and professors, lawyers, judges, doctors, and other professional occupations. The food has always been great, the cheese bread is interesting, service excellent, and always a good time. An excellent place for hanging out with friends and/or family or for a date.

Has a sports bar yet sophisticated ambience. Food is awesome!! I've never had a meal I didn't like there. Chicken Spankie and French Dip are my fave meals. Great food for a great price!

Pizza sauce was chunky, looked more like a sports bar and staff was lazy.

While my wife was attending Tennessee Tech, we used to love eating at Spankie's. Just thinking about the place makes my mouth water. I especially like the cheese bread that they serve. If you're ever in the area, stop by and try the food.

I absolutely love this restaurant...good food especially when i have a little extra cash...
