I had been going to this restaurant regularly for years. Then about 2 years ago, I decided to simply pass. Last month I thought I'd give the place another try, but nothing has changed. The food quality has dropped so low that it no longer acceptable to my standards. The restaurant is located in a area that caters to people looking for a large amount of inexpensive food. I always liked the simple environment and the low pricing; and the quality of food was acceptable for years. However, as business costs began to rise, and they do, the ownership elected to cut back on the food quality versus raising prices and maintaining quality ingredients.
The next time you order an entree from China House, closely look at how heavily breaded the meat has become. On my last visit, I separated the meat from the bread as an experiment...and it was unbelievable how much fried bread encased the small chuncks of meat. I had a pile of breaded wraps...Whatever happened to just serving high quality pieces of meat and do away with the greasy bread. It's an issue of cost and a compromise to one's health.
If you want inexpensive, low quality food that is considered by some to taste good...this is the place to go. I have no doubt this type food will stay in demand for a certain market segment, but if you are looking for an honest and accurate review...don't have high expectations when you visit.
This is a quaint little restaurant run by a couple from Taiwan and they are very friendly. You can eat plenty of food for under $10. They really do alot of business at lunch time so try and avoid peak hours. Also do a great job of carryout under 10 minutes. Great Food & Great Service.
I love this place. It is one of the very few that actually deliver. Everyone I work with at the movie theatre up the road orders from here because they have excellent lunch and dinner specials. The prices are great as well. We order from here at least once a week because it is so good. Plus they give you so much food that you have at least 2 meals out of one special. My favorite is the seasame chicken lunch/ dinner special cause you also get fried rice and an egg roll with it. I also love their fried won ton. This place is great.
I love China House. My family has been going there since we moved to the area in 1997. The staff is very nice and always polite. The food is yummy, fresh and a few new things have been added to their menu which are very good. My kids have their favorites like Orange Chicken, Hot and Sour Soup and Tofu with Hot Sauce. My favorites are the Cashew Chicken and their Lo Mein. The price is wonderful especially when youre a single parent. I hope they never leave the area. A Loyal Customer
This is a small chinese restaurant in a Kroger shopping center. They have dark curtains covering the windows to create more of a homey effect. The employees remember repeat customers and treat you like family.
Oh- and the food is very good and FRESH!
