Great all the way.... Only gave 4 stars though, because they took Pasta Ya Ya back off the menu, but overall a GREAT place to eat.....PLEASE bring back Pasta Ya Ya...........

The food and service are second to none. Their hamburgers are great tasting and a good value!!!

J Alexander's is by far the best restaurant in the Memphis area. The steaks and seafood are always fresh and perfectly seasoned and are accompanied by very generous side dishes. The blue cheese coleslaw is one-of-a-kind and I recommend that you start your meal with the humongous tower of onion rings. J Alexander's offers a great assortment of delicious cocktails and they are not stingy with the cocktail ingredients, if you know what I mean(!) My husband says they have the very best Manhattan he's ever had. J Alexander's reminds us of an old-school elegant Chicago steakhouse. It is where we always take family & friends because the menu offers something for everyone. Customer service has always been the absolute best every time we've been and the atmosphere is such that it's impossible to not feel comfortable and cozy: you will leave feeling especially satisfied.

Hands down best palce to eat, the food is great. Not the place to go for a cheap meal though, and you better plan on getting full.

Yes it's high dollar stuff, but the best steak in the area. Service is usually quite good, but once it wasn't for me. Also, once they were out of a menu item which is inexcusable for this type of place. Still, I feel that you can be confident that you will be satisfied overall. Everything is good that I've tried. I think the filets were around $26, plan on total around $30 per person at least.

i must say at first the price seem a little steep but there is not a better steak anywhere in tn. i cant even eat a steak anywhere else without comparing it to theirs. if you want a good meal in a wonderful and pleasent setting this is at the top of the list as the place to be.

J Alexander's reputation had preceded it before we went here. We heard it was THE place to get a steak. Well, they weren't lying! I had the best filet mignon I'd ever had...quality of meat was unparelleled. Ambience was a little stuffy and quiet but food was excellent. Macaroni and cheese was to die for and not meant for a child's young pallet. No other steak will ever be good enough now, I'm afraid.

Yes, it's somewhat priced high but you get much more than what you're paying for. The portions are HUGE, and the food excellent. Everything is fresh and all sauces and dressings made daily. They have an open kitchen so you can be comfortable with how your food is handled. Besides the great food they have great service. Our drinks never got empty and it was a team effort by every server in the restaurant. Can't wait to go back.

This place is our favorite. The food and the service is goooooooood. Good portions, good prices, good lighting, and good service. It's just plain good, honeychild.
