The BBQ Shop Restaurant, Memphis

Plain and Simple do not stop here if you are from out of town. I came here for the so called best bbq in memphis and i think i would find better BBQ in New York City. They suck!! The Brisket was super dry and they didnt give us any BBQ suace. What kind of BBQ spot forgets to give you BBQ sauce? It wouldnt matter if the Brisket was juicy but it sure wasnt, i almost choked trying to eat it. However i can say the BBQ Spaghetti was good, and the ribs were super very tender. I wwouldnt recomend stopping here if you are from out of town they give Memphis BBQ a Bad rating in my book. Had way better BBQ in other places []

My wife and I were driving thou and asked a person where do you get the best BBQ in town. He said like what. I said where all the reg. people eat. He said well it a drive. Isaid let me go and what and BBQ shop it was some of the best food and nices people I've ever meet. Its not big but its big on food and family. We will be back!!!!!!!! Muskogee Oklahoma

Best ribs in Memphis. They recently started putting a glaze on the dry ribs much to my chagrin, yet they are still incredibly tasty and consistently perfectly cooked.

The only qualifier I have to place is that this place has the best DRY RIBS in town. The wet ribs are ok .... which in any other town would be outstanding. But the dry ribs are really something special....even if your not a fan of dry... give them a shot. They are amazing.

I've known Frank and his son Eric for years. I have lived in Memphis my whole life (54 years) and I have eaten at practically every BBQ joint in town. I have come to the conclusion that most every place in Memphis can cook ribs and pork. What sets The BBQ shop above all the rest is the sauce. Dancing Pigs BBQ sauce is, with out a doubt, the best sauce I have ever tasted, and I have eaten BBQ all over the USA, from east coast to west coast. You can buy it in the grocery stores, but even the store bought does not compare with the sauce that they mix up in the restaurant. Get them to bring you a fresh warm squirt bottle of sauce when you go in. Ask for it on the side to your meal so you can add all you want. I even use it for the seasoned fries that are just to die for. Also, if you get a sandwich, order it on Texas Toast. The Ribs are great, the BBQ Baloney is great. It's all good. If you are going to hit one place in Memphis for BBQ and only one place, you will regret it if you don't choose The BBQ Shop.

We absolutely love the dry rub ribs at BBQ Shop. They are irresistable. The baked beans are to die for as well. I swear I gain 10 pounds just thinking about eating there, but the food is so good, I can't help myself.

Great food at a reasonable price. I've known the owner and his family for several years. What I like about it the most is that the employees are always smiling.

My husband really likes the place because they have the best if only rib tips in town! The sauce is great and good service too.

This place is the best! I always go on the weekends! I do not eat ribs but they have the best and you can order them already cut!!

The BBQ shop is probably the least known top BBQ restaurant. I remeber when it was Brady &B Lils on South parkway and later in Parkway Village on Perkins. If you have time for only one place to go to, go where the locals go, The BBQ Shop
