Marlowe's Restaurant & Ribs, Memphis

My husband and I enjoyed the atmosphere and food during our visit. I usually don t eat ribs, however after tasting Marlowe s, yummmmmmmmm! Juicy and tender. The atmosphere was wonderful. We even had the free shuttle (pink Cadillac) from our hotel and our drive was fun and informative. I can understand why they are an award winning restaurant.

Me,My wife, and my sister in law came in on our way to New Orleans because we heard so much about it.Our waiter was Stan the Man and Yes he was the Man!! My Sister in law is still talking about him till this day and shes ready to kidnap him next time were there..lol..We wanted sandwiches but he talked us into the BBQ Spaghetti and he didnt steer us the wrong way with that.It was delicious!! then we ate mud cake with ice cream which had me ready for some sleep afterwardsGREAT FOOD!! Just to let everyone know, my wife and I had a great time at Marlowe's. The food was great and every one was so sweet and nice. We loved the Ribs We ate the twice once on the way to ohio to see my family and again on the way back home to texas. I loved being picked up for dinner in a pink limo and brought back to where we were staying, it was really cool.

im from bham, al me, sis, and friends were recommended to go here for a good time. the food is horrible, wings were overcooked with absolutely no flavor and had lemon pepper but still was no flavor and looked like turkey wings they were so big topshelf margarita was not good and prices are outrageous, but if u looking 2 party all was well on that tip 4 me!! i will go back to party but need to eat and drink before u arrive!!

So disappointing! We had read reviews that were very positive and had also seen that Guy Feiri had done a clip on it, guess that doesn't mean the food is good. We waited to be seated, no waitress. Then, we sat down and waited another 5 minutes before someone saw us. The food was brought out in about 20 minutes-they were not busy as it was about 2:30 pm when we were there. My husband ordered the pork ribs and I had a pulled pork sandwich. The ribs were awful! They were dry and overcooked, they had no smoke taste to them at all. The bark was so hard, it couldn't be eaten. My pork was dry but not as bad as the ribs. I find it hard to believe, but they had a lot of trophies-but this food was bad. The BBQ sauce tasted like Kraft with a lot of sugar added. I will say, the coleslaw was very good. I had the burgundy mushrooms, horrible! I had to go find a waitress to take them back and heat them up as they were not even warm. The other problem that I had with the restaurant was that the waitresses were eating at a table and would wait on tables in between bites of food! Disgusting. I actually asked the waitress if this was normal, she said they didn't get a break unless they worked 8 hours. If they wanted to eat, they had to do it when they could. Heck, at least eat in the back where the lack of handwashing wasn't thrown in my face. We had to ask for drink refills and had to ask for our check. Definately not a place I would recommend to anyone. Memphis is famous for it's good BBQ, it just wasn't found here. I would have liked to try some of the food that won the trophies!

We stayed in the heartbeak hotel. They pick up you in a pink caddie and break you back to the hotel. Marlowe's had excellant food. Everyone was so sweet and polite. Down to earth people. I would go back to it again next year.

I THINK MARLOWES WAS THE BEST FOR FOOD AND VALUE AND THE STAFF WAS GREAT I WAS FOR EW 2007 GOING BACK 2010 AND I WILL BE HEADING FOR MARLOWES FOR SURE TAKING THE HUSBAND THIS TIME DIANNE FROM AUSTRLIA.
