Central BBQ, Memphis

best BBQ in memphis, i ate in seven of the top BBQ place in memphis recently. and Central was the best, great food, fast service, the busboy/food delivery was just great went the extra yd. to help. prices very reasonable. will be back and go there first this time.

On December 29th, 2009 I had a very surprising and disappointing meal from Central BBQ. I had there several times and enjoyed the barbecue chicken dinner. Unforturnately, on this day the chicken was dry and tasteless. It seems it was chicken from the previous night. I placed the order very shortly after the restaurant opened so it's highly likely that was the case. When I called back to the restaurant I received a very insincere apology with little to no concern. I was a bit saddened because this was my favorite neighborhood restaurant. However, I will not be returning. If you patronize this restaurant, please eat in so that you can complain in person if your meal is not the quality you expect. You will get no customer service or satisfaction if you are unhappy with a call-in order. So disappointing!!!

Had never been to Central BBQ before but will definitely go back. Was a little hesitant about eating there but once I saw the patrons in the dining room I new I was in the right place. If you see local utility guys and office workers eating that's usually a good sign of great food. Serving sizes were huge. Pulled pork a little dry but once BBQ sauce added was fine. I'm familiar with Community tea but this was the first time I had seen Community ice tea in a Memphis restaurant. Good ice tea. Very fine BBQ joint!

Best BBQ in a city full of it. Its where the locals go so you know it is the best. I am in love with the BBQ nachos! Once you try them you are hooked!

I enjoyed my food at Central BBQ. Good food, reasonably priced. Great homemade chips.

As a Memphian and a competitive BBQ cook I have to say they have the best ribs in town. While nothing compairs to competition BBQ this place has the best ribs hands down. If you visit Memphis avoid the temptation to go to Corkey's and stick with places like Central and Interstate.

Visiting here from Illinois, easy to find, we went on a thursday night around 6 pm. Wow, got right in. Order at the counter and go sit down. (not long though) Me and my 2 kids had the full slab of ribs 1/2 dry / 1/2 wet and the wife had the 1/2 slab. Exellent quality for both. How do you people choose which is your favorite, wet or dry?. Good price for the huge portions. Great atmosphere and the staff get an A plus for service and attitude.

Great authentic Memphis BBQ restaurant. BBQ nachos are a MUST! Great food, fast service, good location in a neat neighborhood!
