A & R Barbeque
Andrew & Rose Pollard founded A&R Bar-B-Q in 1983 as a fast food take-out restaurant. Over the years, it grew, providing customers the option of dining-in, as well as catering. When the company first opened, a very small menu provided barbeque and hamburgers and service walk-in customers only. But as the business transitioned into dining-in, the restaurant expanded. A seating area, accommodating 75-80 persons, was added for the large lunch crowds now served day-to-day. Also, the Latrice Pollard-Anthony Room is frequently used for private parties and large groups.Catering was soon added to the list of services, and now counts for 1/3 of the business revenue. In 2001, a second location at 3721 Hickory Hill Rd. opened to accommodate the fast growing Hickory Hill-East Memphis base customers. In 2004 we added a third location in Bartlett.
I had went on lunch today. My order was completely wrong. It was for 3 people including myself. All 3 beef sandwiches were regular instead of jumbo. The sandwiches were NOT fresh. The fries and onion rings were not fresh either. There was hardly any meat on the sandwiches. One had no slaw when we told them to put it on the side. I will not go back. I was trying to give them a second chance since this type of service has happened with them before. Bad customer service. Hickory Hill.
If you like juicy delicious ribs and chicken you are going to have to try them out. The smoked sausage and hot links are good too. I wish I knew what was in that sauce. Try it and you will return, just ask one of the patrons standing outside to get in.
