A & R Bar-B-Q, Memphis

I was visiting for a conference and we tried a lot of BBQ while we were here. The trolley driver told us that A&R was the best in the area and he was right. Out of all of the places we tried A&R had the best of everything. Some had ok sauce but tasted like it was just cooked in the oven there was no smokey flavor at all. Some had ok sides but this is the only place that had everything I was looking for. The BBQ beans were wonderful, the ribs were smokey and not over done by an overpowering dry rub. They were seasoned perfectly and the sauce truly enhanced the meat. I also tried the pulled pork and it had a good flavor as well. I have to say it is the best in Memphis and I look forward to returning on my next visit to Memphis.

My office ordered from the 3rd st. location and ordered a variety of items. Everything we ordered was very good. Our order was ready when we got there and each order was bagged separately with the receipt on each bag. We were able to use one of the coupons from their website and saved a couple of dollars. Good food!!! Good service!!!

Recently we had our family reunion here in Memphis. This year we had the picnic catered by A & R Downtown. The pork shoulder and chicken was delicious. Family members bragged about how good it was and you could taste the smoke throughout the meat. Staff members delivered the dinner to the park right on time. Food was more than enough! Everything was excellent. If you want a good caterer with good food, this is the way to go rather than trying to do it all yourself. You get to sit back and enjoy the festivities!

I have eaten Bar-B-Q from all over and this has got to be the best I loved it and the Staff was great,I had the rib plate and would gladly drive back from Tx. to get more

A & R is now located on RaMill Rd in Raliegh and one of the best things that has happen for the area. The food is great. The ribs and ribs tips are delicious.

A & R is the best barbecue in Memphis. Top's use to be the best, i have never tried Neely's. But since I've been going to A & R, I wont go anywhere else. The only thing I've tried, is the jumbo pork combo, the rib tip plate and the smoked sausage with slaw and barbecue sauce. OMG the best you ever tried. I stay in Raleigh and go way to South Memphis just to get a sandwich,a piece of cheesecake and a tea.

This is great Bar-B-Q!!! We live in Chicago and stopped by A & R on our way home from Mississippi, it was wonderful. The ribs were so tender the meat was falling off the bones, and the pulled pork sandwich is out of this world, and The staff was wonderful. The next time I am in Memphis I am going to buy extras to take home.

a & r bbq is THE BEST bbq in memphis period! their bbq sauce is kinda sweet and spicy, it's just right! i am a VERY REGULAR customer @ both locations in whitehaven and hickory hill. be sure to try their bbq nachos, and ask for extra everything with peppers YUM! and their bbq sandwich is the best! way better than tops and neely's i'm sorry. A & R IS THE BEST! also, the bbq spaghetti is absolutely great and so is their SWEET TEA! more or less, A & R BBQ is the way to go if you want good bbq. P.S., don't forget to call in your order ahead of time, you'll get out of there faster!

When I lived in Memphis A & R is the only rib place I'd go to, they are the BEST IN TOWN!!!
