I was very disappointed. My grandson husband and I love watching Pat and Gina on tv. But I just couldnt believe the food. Ribs were ok turkey bad and the pulled pork was great but I could of had more sauce. The cold slaw had to much cay pepper for the grandson and the baked beans were good. The grandson who is 9 years old couldnt believe how the booths sit was rid up. Maybe we should of went to a different one. But the serves was great she was a very nice young lady.
HORRIBLE! I wish I had read the reviews first! I visited this place April 15, 2011. I watch the owners on TV so I'm like this will be good. Who serves pulled pork without a bun? The meat was horribly dry. The sauce was plain nasty! The green beans were dry. Two week old rolls were served! The beans were stck together in clunks! And I travelled all the way to Memphis for this. Not worth $1.00!
DO NOT GO HERE!!! Went with a large group of people and should have known it was gonna be bad when there was like no one there for the dinner rush (barely any locals, go figure). Food wasnt good, meat was taugh, and desert was old and dry. Worst of all, everyone got SICK, either sitting on the toilet or puking. STAY AWAY!!!
I visited this restaurant on 11-12-2010. Upon pulling into the parking lot I felt this was going to be bad. How bad I didn't know. The place looked like a run down carry out restaurant with some seats. But, because the Neely's are on the Cooking Channel I thought the food would make up for the broken/busted seats and the many holes in the floor and ceiling. Their poster is hanging next to a hole in the ceiling over the fireplace as you walking into the poorly lit restaurant.
The food, well if you never had tasted food ever you might think theirs was great,NOT! We (family of 5) had ribs, pulled pork, baked beans, fries, potato salad and bar-b-que spaghetti. The meat was boiled then cooked very poorly. The only seasoning was the sauce which was watery. Spaghetti was over seasoned. Other items was just barely ok.
The restaurant even managed to mess up our drinks, lemonade and sweet tea. They had so much sugar I had to ask for water to dilute it.
The service was ok, but from an inexperinced staff. Either too young to understand good service and professionalism or not trained properly. I can't believe the Neely's run such a terrible establishment.
On a scale of 1 to 10, 10 being the best, this place is a 3.
I visited the restaurant on 9/21; i was very disappointed. Please update this facility; it is very dark and outdated; my food was microwaved and cold by the time it was brought to me. I did enjoy the sweet tea & potatoe salad, but nothing else. I came from Peoria, Ill to visit this restaurant because I enjoy the cooking show, another couple also visited from out of town. Please send a family member down there to check on the facility and get it presentable to your fans. The young people working there do not have the same values as your family seems to on your show.
I was in Memphis on Sept. 21st and decided to stop this the Neely's Bar-B.Que for Lunch. I was accompanied by two other friends. We were fropm Peoria Illinois and had heard about the Restaurant on Food Network. Needless to say we were disappointed. I had The Pulled Pork Sandwich w/Cold Slaw and a Ice Tea. The Pulled Pork was overcooked and tasted as if it had been boiled no seasoning. Another friend has the Beef Briskets, Potato Salad and Fries, beef was overcooked and no taste. The Bar-B-Que Sauce did not help the meal at all. The best thing was the Potato salad. The Other Friend had the Fried Bologna. No good either. What we observed was this: Three young ladies high school age or may first year college students and one Gentlemen late twenties...with their children there in the back watching TV. Food served luke warm and the atmosphere left a lot to be desired. Service was not to be as our waitress tried to offer good service. The Restaurant needs an overhaul and there should be an Adult Supervision available so food can be served properly and not overcooked food. We decided not to ask for a refund for poor food, but, rather leave a minimal tip and go else where for good for. Over all rating is Poor. Neely's live up to the what you say on the Food network as to quality of food
I normally do not leave comments; however, my pre Labor Day experience on (9/5/10 @ 12:15PM at the West Memphis Downtown location) was So bad that I do not even have a receipt to show as a momento for the dining experiece. That is because I had to leave it on the table because no one would come and get the check even 10 minutes after it was requested and following being asking if one should pay at the counter or the table and was informed table. My table was very excited at the opportunity to dine but the food was a big disappointment. we ordered the BBQ nachos & the Sampler Platter (Smoked Turkey Breast, Pulled Pork, Sliced Beef Brisket, & Ribs) with two sides being fries & bbq beans. The cheese on the nachos tasted like the Canned Nacho cheese sold at the concession stand at your local ball park/carnival. the smoked turkey breast was either old or over cooked because the edges was very hard and discolored from the center portion of the meat that was so dry. The sliced pork was a little better and not as dry yet lacked season/flavorl. the pork was better prepared and the ribs were falling of the bone although they were bland, but an A should be giving for texture and and A+ for the french fries. We were addressed by 4 different waitresses and no one came back to the table to ask if we needed anything else/how was the food/to refill beverages, etc. Even if I wanted to order dessert no one stopped to ask. Had to ask for my check and a to go box, I dislike seeing food go to waste. We should have gotten a clue when the table next to us ordered a lot of food but did not take to go boxes nor did they eat it all. Our table had 4 different wait staff personnel and to this day I am not sure who was suppose to be servicing us. Also the facility was not extremely crowded at the time we counted at least 12 empty tables yet people were having to wait 15-20 mins to be seated. Will not recommend this place at the present time. it sort of put a damper on the Memphis experience during my vacation. Glad it was at the end of it.
