Excellent food with obviously fresh ingredients (not canned or frozen as with so many other restaurants around here.) The service is also excellent with the manager stopping by our table almost every visit to make sure our experience has been wonderful (and it always has been - because if it's not right, they have made it right (the too-high salt thing happened to us once, but they handled my complaint right away and to my satisfaction.) Save room for desert because they are ALL the best in Knoxville area!
We went there for my mother's birthday and, being the polite family we are, nodded our heads and agreed our respective meals were good. Two days later, though, we all came out and admitted to each other how salty we had found it and how much it made us all bloat up the day afterwards!
Salty, salty, salty; therefore no good to me.
I have ate take out from there (Maryville) the food was average being warmed up. My first time there 1/14/11 was a little to be desired. I can wait with the best of them however when someone comes in after us and the hostess tells them they have a 20 minute wait they ask for option. None given at that time. Very good for Sullivan's an A+ for that. However 10 minutes later a hostess comes and ask them questions I figure a bar seat or something. They go before us two of them two of us. Blood pressure up I'm mad don't say nothing. Our turn we go to the dining room level there they are not at the bar but in a booth same as I'm being seated. This sucks. Now for the rest of the grades,,, Service was a little above average but not excellent, food taste was nothing to write home about , and price was more than it should have been after I ate there in person. I won't be returning ever. I would have rather e-mailed this to you but there are no contacts but phone number on your web site.
My wife and I have eaten there numerous times and have yet to be disappointed in the quality of food and service. We even had our rehearsal dinner there and always head there for a special evening by ourselves or with a group of friends. I highly recommend Sullivan's to anyone.
First let me say I used to love Sullivan's Downtown. My last few experiences have been less than stellar. The service was extremely slow...took 45 minutes to get our meal at our last visit. It wasn't the wait staff, it was the kitchen. It wasn't terribly busy, strange for a Saturday night, but even if it were the kitchen should be able to keep up. The prices have gone up, as they do with any restaurant but the portions on some items seems to have been cut in half. I honestly don't know what to expect when I go in Sullivan's anymore, as stated in the start of this review, the last few visits have been really inconsistent. I hope it improves as I do love the atmosphere of the restaurant.
