probably the blandest Mexican food I have ever eaten, I had the chicken fajitas and there wasn t much chicken or veggies , more rice and beans and it tasted like the meat was boiled with no flavor at all. Real authentic Mexican has spices cooked in the food, this didn t even have salt or pepper. Me and my wife has given that place 3 tries but monterrey s has struck out.
This is one of my favorite restaurants. Every time I'm in Greeneville, I make sure to come, and always order the Pollo Picoso. It's also a favorite haunt of The Band Perry, which probably should speak to the quality of the food that they continue to come regularly.
Bland salsa (like tomato sauce mixed with tomato paste), unseasoned rice , refried beans had no flavor added, meat in burrito was just chopped hamburger with no added anything.........i mean do people really like everything mild around there and they are just catering to the needs of the spiceless tastebuds or they not have a clue how other mexican restaurants do business?/ i really had trouble understanding how people had good things to say in the reviews on here......i don't think we just happened to be there the same day the flavorings were confiscated!!
This location is good but there is another location and it is better. The other Monterrey's is located in the town square shopping center and for some reason their food is better. Try them both and decide for yourself.
I have no complaints about this restaurant. Great service, excellent food, & quality pricing. My favorite dish is their Chimichangas. My 2nd favorite dish is their Fajitas. The restaurant is very clean. Can be a romantic place for a couple. My husband & I like to go when we are alone. Also, it's a good family place, too.
