Howard's Restaurant, Gatlinburg

We have eaten at this restaurant several times and it is our favorite. We have never gotten bad service or food. I am very surprised at the negative comments. I guess no restaurant is perfect all the time.

DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY. I WOULD REVIEW THE FOOD BUT UNFORTUNATLY I NEVER GOT THE CHANCE. WE WAITED OVER AN HOUR FOR OUR ORDER AND FINALLY GOT UP AND LEFT. THE SAD THING IS THAT IT REALLY WAS NOT THAT CROWDED. ANOTHER COUPLE THAT WAS SEATED ABOUT THE SAME TIME AS US WALKED OUT RIGHT BEHIND US. IF THE SERVICE IS THIS BAD ALL THE TIME, I'M SURE WE ARE NOT THE ONLY ONES TO WALK AWAY HUNGRY.

One of my favorite restaurants in gatlinburg try to get a table out back by the stream.

We eat at Howard's 4-5 times during our stay every year. Chicken Breast sandwich very good , never have we had poor service there. Eat out back by the stream very nice.

This place has been around for ever. Outside porch is always packed. Service was okay and the food will bring you back.

I ate there at noon earlier this week. I ate outside above the creek. The sound of rushing water had a very calming effect. The food was delicious. I had the breakfast sausage wrap with hash browns, and it was delicious. The eggs in the wrap were fluffy, and the hash browns were those long thin strings of potato fried golden brown. My wife had a chicken sandwich, which she also enjoyed. Lunch prices were moderate, and service was attentive.

The steak and eggs breakfast was outstanding. Very tasty ribeye, eggs over easy and hash browns for $10.95. Sat by the creek and the back. Made for a beautiful relaxed environment supported by the good service. I will be back to try the open roast beef sandwich and a spicy bloody mary.

Breakfast at Howard's wasn't advertised clearly from curbside, but a whiteboard in the window mentioned some breakfast dishes, so my wife and I went in to see. Indeed, this steakhouse serves breakfast, but it's not clearly advertised. We had platters of hashbrowns, home fries, country ham, eggs, bacon, and sausage. The portions were HUGE and price was very reasonable. Service was excellent. All food was cooked appropriately and served hot. For breakfast, this secret needs to be shouted from the curb. Good job, Howard!

I've eaten at Howard's Restaurant several times over the years including for our anniverary. Never had a bad meal there. They have a nice outdoor patio for better weather. Their steaks are very good, cooked to your specifications.

My wife and I recently visited this establishment. My wife ordered Trout Oscar and I ordered fried catfish. We were both highly disappointed in the meals. Her trout was overcooked and the sauce was very sour tasting, not at all like baernaise & tarragon. My catfish was over fried on the outside and mushy in the middle, not flaky like good catfish should be. Our steak fries were under cooked and my hushpuppies tasted chewy like they had been warmed over again and again. Plus, nobody makes hush puppies with yellow corn meal. Our garlic toast didn't have garlic on it. My wife tasted portions of her meal and I tried to eat the mushy catfish but we finally just gave up. They even forgot to bring my cole slaw. I guess I should have complained but I was so disappointed and disgusted that we just paid up and left. I will never set foot in that establishment again nor will I recommend it to anyone else. I live in the local area and I am not impressed.
