I read the comments on this website today and decided to try Edo's resturant based on these comments. The comments were from several months ago but I assumed that the food will still be as good as described in the earlier reviews. I was wrong.
I tried this resturant for the first time tonight. I ordered a california roll and a hibachi dinner of Yaki. The california roll was acceptable if somewhat plain in taste. The dinner salad was extremely small but contained fresh lettuce and the shrimp sauce had a good flavor. Unfortunately the hibachi dinner that cost me $12.00 was terrible. The rice tasted like dried out brown rice leftover from a day or two ago. It had a very strong black pepper taste as if someone had tried to hide the old rice by covering it with pepper. The beef was tough and had no real flavor. I suspect it was a matter of using the cheapest meat available. The meat was then covered with what was supposed to be a terriyaki sauce. The sauce tasted so bad I had to restrain myself from spitting it across the room. I cook with terryaki alot at home and this didnt taste like any I had every seen. I ended up leaving my entire plate sitting on the table and going to speak with the cashier who turned out to be the owners wife. She stood there and smiled but kept insisting that there was no way her rice could be dry or old. When I showed her the plate of food she refused to look at it and just kept insisting that it must be good. She did admit that they used a meat that was often tough and said that she couldnt be responsible for tough meat. I asked if she could get me something else and was told that I would have to pay for both meals if I ordered something else. I ended up paying almost $20.00 for a meal I couldnt eat and leaving the resturant to go home and eat leftovers. If you dont want to waste $20.00 per person on a meal that you can't eat... stay away from this resturant!!!
Edos is the best place to get sushi. The quality is just as good as if you went to a five star sushi bar. The prices are amazing. I had never tried Edos before it moved to its new place, but now it's one of my favortite places. The owners are the nicest people you could ever meet.
