We just got back from our stay at the Mountain Harbor Inn on Douglas Lake in Dandrige, TN. We had a very enjoyable time staying there for our 19th anniversary while staying in the Presidential suite which had very nice accomodations. The view of Douglas lake and the surrounding mountains were spectacular. We opted for the cheesecake for our candlelight dessert and it was romantic and the dessert was delicious. The only downside to our stay which the Inn had no control over, was that the weather was beautiful all week long with temperatures in the mid 70 s with lots of sunshine, but two days before we arrived the weather turned colder and rainy and the temperature dropped to the 50 s. Due to the rainy weather the sunset cruise which we were looking forward too was cancelled. Amy, was our host and she was friendly and helpful. We will definitely book a return visit next year during the summer when the weather is a little more agreeable.
This was the best anniversary my husband and I have had. We stayed here at Mountain Harbor and everything was just perfect. The room was absolutely amazing and so were the views from the room. I couldn t decide which was better! The room was very clean also and very affordable. There is no where else this nice for the money. There was a great boat ride and a candle light desert which was more than one can eat and the service was better than anywhere. Pam was the one who took care of us and she is absolutely great and made sure we had the best time possible! :) I will be back and would recommend this to everyone.
Horrible customer service. Will never go back.
We have used this facility to rent a pontoon boat a few times in the past. We reserved a boat for Father's day with April. There have been severe storms here in Asheville and also in the Lake Douglas area. The morning of the reservation, it was storming hard here and we also consulted online resources and live cams in the Dandridge/ Lake Douglas area which called for severe thunderstorms during the time we were renting. The live cams did show heavy rain and lightning.
My wife called and spoke with April who said we would have to drive 2 hrs , and stand in front of her to cancel. We would not cancel by phone even though it was storming and could not take the boat out. She proceeded to hang up on my wife 2 times and was rude and dismissive. A two hour drive from the mountains in a storm just to canel? We reserved by phone, but could not cancel by this way?
Then we noticed a full charge for the rental on our credit card statement. We had even asked her to give us a credit for another time, which she refused.
We even had a boat breakdown last time we were there and ruined our day, and had to be pulled in, and we never complained missing half of our time there.
We have referred many people there for the boat rentals, and facilities. We have never been treated as rudely as we have by April. We will never use their services again and want to warn others not to.
We loved this place. The mood was wonderful and restful. Just what we needed after a long winter. The staff are the best and the in room massage was wonderful. The cruise was great and evenings on the deck were romantic. If you need a place to get away from the rat race and rest this is it. We are planning at least 2 more weekends visits in the year. Don't go here if you require something to do every minute of the day. This is a place to grow your marriage and make memories with your spouse.
This is off the beaten path, but is in a beautiful setting -- lake and mountains. Rooms are well furnished. We were in the Song of the South Suite, which was a little small for the size of the bed, but very nice nonetheless. The staff could not have been more friendly, and the breakfast and candlelight dessert were terrific. Sunset cruise was beautiful and interesting. Captain Roger was very engaging and infomative. The hotel seems to be in very good condition. This is an excellent value for the money. We are from California and if we ever find ourselves in this part of the country again, we would not hesitate to stay here. Highly recommended.
We loved Mountain Harbor Inn. Everything about our stay was a delight. The Inn is located on the lake with the Smoky Mountains in the background. The Inn has wonderful views. They have boat rentals of all kinds and we took advantage of an afternoon on the lake and it was a wonderful time. We were celebrating our anniversary so the candlelight dessert was an extra special treat that was included in our package. This Inn has obviously been cared for in everyway and is impressive and luxurious. We appreciated the friendly staff also. Definitely for an anniversary getaway this would be a perfect place!
My husband and I stayed at Mountain Harbor Inn, in Dandridge, TN the first week in August. It was a surprise trip for our anniversary. The Inn was an absolutely perfect choice for a few days of romantic getaway. When we arrived we were greeted by a perfectly peaceful and beautiful view of the lake and the mountains, with the dock and boats below, it was an incredible scene. As we checked in, we commented on how professional the staff was along with just plain friendly, seeming happy to greet us and accommodate us in everyway. Our room/condo was SPECTACULAR. These rooms are decorated to the 10's with wonderfully huge comfortable beds and a TV tucked away just in case you need a movie fix while relaxing. Our condo had a full kitchen, full living room and was more spacious than any we had stayed in. Cleaned to perfect detail, my husband had trouble getting me to leave!! We were greeted with cold Mountain Harbor Spring water which was welcome on the 100 degree day. Their breakfasts, which are included, are wonderful, including eveything you may want, eggs, pancakes, meats, cereals, juices and more. All hot and delcious or cold and fresh. Simply a delightful breakfast. Each evening they served a candlelight dessert that was incredible. Sunset cruises are offered for your enjoyment each evening around 7:30 and should not be missed as the trip around the lake was delightful and educational. Dandridge is a lovely old historical town that we enjoyed. What a surprise to find our most perfect romantic getaway ever at Mountain Harbor Inn. We highly highly recommend this as a stay for anyone, romance or not! Friendly, clean, luxury acoomoodations we will surely visit again very soon
The staff and management are rude and unwilling to make any minor adustments to accomodate their guests. They boast about their expensive and imported furnishings and act as though the place is a museum; look--don't sit or walk on the pricey floor in the lobby. Very overpriced; nothing to do.
Located on US route 139, sets beautifully on Douglas Lake.
