My wife and I have joined friends for dinner at this restaurant before. The food and the service have been good. Not this time! Our friends arrived about 10 minutes ahead of us. They asked the server to bring biscuits so they could munch on them while they waited for us to arrive. They were still waiting for the biscuits when we got there. We looked at the beautiful photos of the various entres, and ordered those that looked particularly good. When the food came, it was a far cry from the photos in the menu. The portions were about half what they should have been. In addition, my wife's dinner was so bad, she couldn't finish it. She just ate a salad. Oh, about the time that we would have been ready to order dessert, the server brought a plate of biscuits. It only took about an hour to get them.
Not wanting to make a scene at the restaurant, when I got home I went onto the RT website and submitted my comments online. The next afternoon, I received a call from the restaurant manager. He had not been on duty the night before, and was very disappointed in the poor quality and quantity of our food and the shoddy service that we received. He promised to send me a certificate for the four of us to return so that he could ensure that we had a most enjoyable dining experience. I told him that would be nice.
A week later I had not received the promised certificate, so I called the restaurant and spoke with the manager again. He told me that he had spoken with his director about our experience and said that his director had promised to send us the dining certificate. The manager told me that he was greatly disappointed that his director had not provided the promised certificate. He said that he would call his director again and assured me that I would have the certificate within 72 hours. It's now two weeks later and there's still no sign of the promised certificate.
Not only do they not provide good, plentiful food, they tell you whatever they think you want to hear and then fail to follow through. That's it! I'm done! We will NEVER patronize this or any other Ruby Tuesday again and we'll tell all our friends to do likewise.
My wife and I should have left right after stepping inside this Ruby Tuesday.
I felt things weren't good here when we walked in and waited, and waited, and waited some more for the hostess to even acknowledge us. The restaurant had about 25% of its seats filled.
Once seated, it took about 5 minutes for a waiter to approach our table. After placing our order, our waiter never come to our table again. 30 minutes went by, my wife asked a waiter if we can have the biscuits that were to come with our meal. Our waiter left one buscuit my each of us, stating that the biscuits are supposed to arrive with the meal.
Finally, the ordered meal arrived. The fore-mentioned biscuits were hard as a rock, but the entrees were passable.
Please stay away from this restaurant. It is obvious this Ruby Tuesday's management doesn't care about customer service. No member of management came on the restaurant floor to assist the servers or communicate the reason for the slow service with the customers.
There are other worthy restaurants in Lenoir City.
Terrible service and food. I've always loved Ruby Tuesday's but was very disappointed by this one in my home county. The waitress was rude and the food was virtually inedible. Drive off the interstate a bit and try another restaurant. There are many great ones a short distance away but avoid this one at all costs.
