I've been a long time customer of Little Italy and boy has it changed. I'm not really talking about the food quality as much as the price and portion size. I most recently called in an order and was not told that their menu had changed. Their prices doubled and the portion size was cut in half. So, I basically paid the same price for 1/2 a sub. It's sad cause I really liked this place but I'll never go back!
I love this place. It has the best Italian food at the best price. My favorite is the American Cheese steak along with their meatballs. You cannot go wrong eating here. It is worth the drive to Blountville to eat here. You will leave full and wanting more at the same time. You must eat here.
Never thought I'd find a New York City-caliber calzone in Eastern Tennessee! But Little Italy's got them. Just perfect - and a sweet little (ok, huge, actually) cannoli to finish the meal. Will be back for more!
After moving to Bristol from Philly, it took me years to find the true, authentic, New York style pizza that I grew loving over the years. I will not eat pizza anywhere else in the tri-city area. Their pizza is hand-tossed and baked in real pizza ovens, not on conveyor belts. The dough is thin with a nice crisp to the outside and tender on the inside. The sauce has just a hint of seasoning and the mozzarella is good quality...it doesn t disintegrate into grease when baked. When you pick up a slice, it holds it shape, doesn t limp over and the cheese doesn t slide off....or one can fold it like native New Yorkers. If you want authentic NY/Philly/NJ pizza, hoagies or cheesesteaks, this is the place. Have never had problems with the service....even at their peak times.
To a native New Yorker, Pizza is more than just a quick and easy dinner to feed the family. It s more than filling your gut, much more. For a New Yorker, good pizza epitomizes the tradition of Italian cuisine in New York. I have been a transplant to Bristol since 2000, and pined for The Real Deal . I have found the Holy Grail and I am now ruined for all other Italian establishments. I am declaring my unwavering loyalty to Little Italy s Pizza off downtown Bristol s State Street on 6th Street. They serve Pizza by the Slice, the New York tradition! Now if the restaurant on 421 serves Veal Parmessan, my family will have to have a new monthly budget category named: LITTLE ITALY. Bellissimo!
