Cottage, Johnson City

I have been going to the Cottage for 30 years, and it hasn't changed a bit. Great food then and now. I don't live in the area any more but any time I make a trip to JC, the Cottage is one of my stops. It should be on the show dinners, dives, and driveins. Best place in JC to eat. Try it

I went to this restaurant because a family friend mentioned it, saying they have the best food in town. I have to agree. I have never been a fan of sweet tea, but for some reaon I chose to order it. It was amazing and if I had a say I would label it the 'best sweet tea in the South'. I went with my family and for the most part everyone ordered something different. There wasn't one thing we didn't like about our orders. The food was amazing! And the staff was nice. Anyone who visits Johnson City, Tennessee must visit this restaurant! - You won't be sorry.

After hearing about the legendary Cottage from friends, a group of us ventured over from Greeneville on a Friday night. What I expected paled in comparison to the reality of the place. It's one of those places where everyone seems to genuinely be in a great mood from the moment you walk in. On Friday nights in particular, you'll have to come early to get a seat--karaoke packs 'em in. We recommend the cheap pitchers of beer and the BLT, though I haven't heard a complaint about anything on the menu. And now that it's non-smoking, the atmosphere is more welcoming than ever.

This is a great place to get a big, thick, juicy burger for a cheap price. No where in JC will you find better burgers. A word to the wise: Go during the daytime if you are with family. After 7 is not a family friendly atmosphere. This is a bar with liquor and drinking. If you are offended by such this isnt the place for you. Their food however, is WONDERFUL!

The Cottage is classified technically as a bar, but you are not treated as if you have to drink and the normal "bar-flys" aren't there. Each person is greeted as if you are a family member, you are waited on promptly and the food is delicious! The portions are well worth the money and the food is reasonably priced. A couple can easily get 2 Burgers, share an order of fries and get 2 very large drinks with *free* refills for around $12.00. Everything is homemade and made to order. There's really nothing bad I can say about this place. Definitely one of my favorite places to visit!
