I think stir fry is pretty good. Depending on what you get. I usually get a roll of sushi some soup and crab rangoons and its good. Ive had a noodle dish before but I wasnt as impressed its a little bland. I have had service that wasnt that good but we were comped with free appetizer. The price is a little inflated as well.
My husband, brother-in-law, daughter, and I went here this week because we heard they had a 1/2 price sushi night. We got there around 6:30 and the place was packed. We were told it would be 20-25 mins to get a table. I went to the restroom and when I came back, my family was already seated. Our waitress was wonderful! Very attentive! She said since we were ordering sushi and they were so busy, it might be a long wait, however our food was brought to our table in 20 mins or so. The rolls weren't wrapped as good as the ones we've eaten at Edo's or Sushi Blues, but considering how busy they were, it was still great quality! The atmosphere was amazing, very low light and sleek design. As I said, my daughter, who is 2, was with us and did quite well eating the fried rice. I wouldn't say it was family oriented, but I would deffinetly bring her back. This is a great restaraunt which all sushi lovers should try. I'm sure we'll return before the holiday season!
Stir Fry is one of the moderately priced upscale restaurants in JC that I go to at lunch or early evening (before the pickup crowd begins, I guess). I find the atmosphere to be urban and fun, the menu choices wonderful. I think they've slipped a bit since they first opened, but I still find the flavors interesting and fresh. It's the only place in town that I know of where you can get brown rice with your Asian entree. The service is often on the cool side, but prompt and attentive enough to be acceptable. It seems to me that standard Chinese fare is not their forte. The noodle dishes and the stir fries where you select beef, chicken, or tofu are the best, I think.
My wife and I had been driving by Stir Fry Cafe since it opened, and each time the aroma caused a pang to creep into our belly's. We would often comment that we should try them out.
Well not long ago we did and were we ever pleased. I sampled the beef and shrimp with a bowl of Tom Som soup; while my wife went for the chiken fried rice.
We were both very pleased, especially with the fried rice. Not since I left Japan have I had fried rice that good.
I also have to say that our waitress was very good. She went to a lot of trouble to ensre that our questions were answered correctly and did her best to make our visit a pleasant one.
We will definetly be going back for more. A word of caution though. Stir Fry is a lit more upscale than one would exspect from an asian resutant in the tri-cities. It's the kind of place where rich men go to meet rich women and have rich babies. So the prices are on the steeper side and it doesn't seem to be too kid friendly. But definetly a place to try.
The food is great. The atmosphere is great. The location is great. The prices are good, but the last three times I have been there the billing price did not accurately reflect the price on the menu. I had to tell them this each time. They don't seem to know how to correct this or maybe they don't care. I have been unable to e-mail them from their main website because the link does not work.
