Indian Mahal Restaurant
Intimate atmosphere and ornate decorative touches make this a perfect spot for a romantic dinner or Sunday lunch. The menu features simple, yet delicious Indian favorites like curries and masalas. Each dish is served with varying degrees of spiciness, so specify how hot you want your evening to be. Spiced Indian teas, fruit juices and soft drinks are served here, but not alcohol.
Agree on the service being overly good. Would actually prefer a little more low-key, less nosy atmosphere. The food is good and tends to be richer and sweeter than the spicier Sitar or the more exotic Curry Pot.
Me and a friend went here together while on vacation and it was pretty good food, and the service was OVERLY good they shook our hand 2 or 3 times, and kept welcoming us to their place and Chattanooga and they even had a conversation with us just amazing people, but i must say the price was a bit steep compared to Curry Pot which is also great.. but still it was an overall great restaurant.
Great food great service a little more pricey than atlanta indian restaurants but i thought they were on the cheap side ,and who ever wrote service was horrible ,thats a lie they,re all over you like a long lost uncle . 5 stars
My favorite place in Chattanooga...No kidding.
The food is inredible, the shrimp curry is my favorite, the folks that run it are super nice. I do have a bias towards family owned places like this...That means something to me.
Anyway, just remember not everyone's idea of hot is the same. LOL
My husband and I have eaten there twice now and the food is absolutely wonderful. We have been trying different things, but one of our favorites was the masala. The service is excellent. They are extremely friendly and eager to explain stuff to you. (if you have a lot of questions like we do)
wow we drove from copperhill appox 65 miles this place was recommened by 3 different people.we arrived an hour before closing and food was outstanding and service was top notch.was it worth 2 hour r/t drive??? absolutley
I absolutly love this place and the people who own it are so wonderful and kind. I really enjoy coming to this place, its always a pleasent experience! If you want great indian food, I definitely recommend them.
India Mahal has THE best Indian cuisine in TN. If you have never tried Indian before, it's great because they offer a lunch buffet where you can learn the flavors. Lunch is by far the best route to go to save a buck or two. We have a fiend that drives all the way from Atlanta just for their food because there is NO OTHER like it! It is family owned and operated and they are great people. Try the mango lassi.
