Sawasdee Thai Restaurant, Chattanooga

I have been a regular customer of Sawasdee for years. The service has always been lacking, but I have given them a little leeway because the food is very good and is close to home. However, I will go there no longer. The last couple times I've gone, it felt like the server/owner was deciding what I could order by telling me that the item i wanted was not able to be prepared, and it seemed like she would get angry if I even mentioned it. She was so surly, sullen, and unwelcoming last night that I truly believe she did not want our business. I think she has finally chased me away; I will never go back.

There was weirdness from the get-go. Despite having an 'OPEN' sign, the door was locked. When I went up to the door to peek in, the hostess acknowledged my presence and then scuttled into the kitchen. I didn't realize you had to knock at a restaurant. We ordered $30 worth of take-out from this establishment, and though it tasted fine, I could have made the stir-fry using a bottle of Kikkoman and a bag of frozen veggies for a lot less. Nothing tasted fresh. The portions were extremely small given the cost, and we had to pay extra for the rice to go with the curry. (Who eats curry plain?)
