A friend and I stopped in last January for an early dinner and drinks. We were seated promptly and had great service. As it turned out, the food was great also, and for that reason we'll be returning next week. It really was a fun experience ... see you soon! F & G

My wife and I went here due to receiving a coupon on the back of our "Ruby Falls” admission ticket. It was a September Saturday afternoon around 2:00 P.M. We were seated quickly as the restaurant was not very busy. After waiting for over 5 minutes a server tells us she'll be with us in a minute. She didn't ask us our drink orders or anything, just said she'd be back. After waiting for at least another 5 minutes I'd had enough. We got up and walked out, the 3 hostesses that weren't doing a damn thing didn't make any attempt to ask us why we were leaving or what was wrong, they just stood there. I used to work in the restaurant industry as a server and I understand what they go through. I just don't have any patience when it comes to waiting that long without any acknowledgment of any kind much less at least a drink order, ESPECIALLY when they weren't even crowded. They lost out on two paying customers but as it seems these days, I'm sure they don't care. So many people are used to crappy customer service they probably wouldn't have a problem waiting that long for service on a slow day, but that's not me! There are too many other choices in Chattanooga that will gladly take my money to put up with that kind of crappy service!

Service is spotty sometimes, but the food overall is good, and so is the beer. Best as an after work place.

I don't drink beer, but the food was good, and the homemade root beer was fantastic!

Our large family went to celebrate the monthly birthdays. There was only one other table that was occupied. Our waitress was more concerned with standing around talking and cutting up with the group of other wait staff right off the end of our table than in waiting on us. They were so loud that we couldn't hear the family at the other end of the table when they spoke. When the staff did work they vacuumed right around our table and under it even though there was a very large room to work in with very few occupents. We sat there waiting for two hours without getting our food and were getting up to go eat elsewhere before the waitress agreed to get our food. When she brought it, it was cold and didn't taste very good. When we asked to speak to the manager, we were told the manager wasn't on the premises. The waitress waited until we were getting up to leave before asking if we wanted drink refills. By that time we had sat through most of our meal without drinks. We were there for two hours and forty-five minutes all told. We were all very disappointed and we have not gone back since.

Good drinks and place to catch a game
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/18/09
This micro-brewery restaurant is really good. They have a beer sampler so you can taste them all and know what you want. The bar area has a lot of tvs so you can catch a game.

Good drinks
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/10/09
We visited Big River while in Chattanooga. We just had appetizers and a drink. My husband tried the beer sampler. I had the blueberry mojito. The mojito was very good. The appetizers we had were good and we'd go back for dinner if we visit Chattanooga again.

7/7/09 Arrived around 8:15pm. Service was slow and unattentive. Ate the Mahi Mahi and felt I got hooked! Very small portion for such a high price ($18.50) and over cooked. Server was more interested in cleaning the tables and floors around us than serving us. Didn't fill Tea glass until we were ready to pay bill and then gave me sweet instead of unsweet. Waitress was very forgetful. Told manager of my experience when I left. He acted as if he could care less. I won't be back. Good Luck with your visit!

The tuna sandwich is great. Grilled and tasty. Real southern sweet tea. The wait staff attentive and friendly.
