We can walk to Cancun from our apartment, and while we like the food and used to go there often, we were appalled at the negative Obama references posted behind their cash register. If they want to play politics, that is fine, but we will certainly not go there again, and I encourage everyone tired of the partisan atmosphere to not go there either. If the owners want to put their political views in our face when we go out to dinner, they need to understand that there more than a few of us that will not appreciate it.
I used to go eat in Cancun ALL THE TIME. As did a lot of my friends. But while to food is great some of the employees are rude and accuse people of not paying for their bill. Even when the person has paid it. I refuse to even step foot in there anymore because of some of the employees rudeness.
I have been going to Cancun's since age 15 (I am now 23). The food, pricing and atmosphere haven't changed a bit - still the best food at the best price. The service has gone down hill a little, but not enough to want to sacrifice the experience. My boyfriend and I go to Cancun's still once or twice a week. The fajitas mixta and their cheese dip are tha bomb! The band that plays there on Friday nights has been the same band for years....unfortunately, they still play the same music too. Very rarely do you hear anything new. They start with the same song every week. They're definitely not my favorite, but still a great restaurant. The best as a matter of fact. My favorite place to eat for the last 8 years!
If you want to eat good Mexican food that isn't Americanized seasoned, this is the place to go. Even on a busy Friday night, we got right in, and as soon as we were seated the fresh tortilla chips and salsa was served. After ordering our Burrito's, complete with refried beans and Mexican rice, it wasn't five minutes and our order was there. Very good, very authentic. The waitstaff were all very friendly, answered any questions and made sure everything was fine. We also asked for, and received, take out menu's.
We will be going back soon!
