Nashville's premier hotel, the Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center, offers guests all the excitement and energy of Music City under one spectacular roof. Beneath our climate-controlled signature glass atriums and nestled in a bend of the meandering Cumberland River is an extraordinary selection of dining, shopping and recreation options that create the perfect setting for a complete getaway.
Like the previous person said I thinking they had bed bugs. After a few nights I was itching all night long. The rooms were small, the food was expensive, there was not a lot to do unless you want to spend every minute in the resort. I went to the Grand Old Opry and that was fun but there is nothing else to do in the surrounding area. There used to be a theme park in the area but the Gaylord turned it into a mall that is no longer running. I walked down to the Bass Pro Shop at the end of the mall parking lot but you have to walk on the roads to get there. No sidewalks and the mall parking lot has fences surrounding it. Really there is safe way to get there and having cars buzz by you isnt all that fun.
Liked - the fact that the events associated with our group were all in one place and area travel wasn't necessary.
Disliked - Our room was never cleaned, we had to wait to be able to get into our room, breakfast for 3 was $48.....really? for a breakfast buffet? Because there were not adequate trash receptacles, trash was stashed on tables, etc
We have stayed at the Gaylord on several occasions. Love the hotel/resort. Yes it's expensive but what do you expect. It's lovey to walk around and look at. Romantic settings everywhere. Very relaxing with the sounds of the falls and fountains. You can leave to eat. Restaurants locally are reasonable, some very familiar a few different enough to make it an adventure. Staff friendly. If I had to complain we got some misinformation from a staff member. Not the hotels fault. Our room was spacious and quiet. Had a very good night sleep.
I have been here for ten minutes and thus far I was bumped from my room because they gave it up. OK I got in at 10pm and there was nothing saying I would lose my room. So they put me in a room with a sofa sleeper!! I did not say a sofa sleeper in addition to I said a sofa sleeer....period!!! and is that is not enough. the sofa sleeper has a 3 inch mattress, no pillows and had no blanket. I am paying 100+ per night and I am getting a room worse than a motel 8. I wont even go into the fact that the internet connection is as fast as dial up and the front desk had nothing to say but we can bring you up pillows and a blanket. I will not return nor will I tell anyone to ever stay here I am sadly disappointed!!!!
My wife and I loved everything about our stay. The room was great with a wonderful view. We ask for a room with a view,no problem, we lost our Ice tickets, no problem. The package deal was a great deal, but they also gave us a teacher discount, that saved us fifty dollars. The light show was breath taking, and Ice was an extra treat included in our package. The management should be proud of the great NEW LOOK of the remodel job. You should go, and the Swifts will come back again and again. Thanks Garylord for the southern charm. The Swifts
i liked it best when i was leaving. this hotel makes it almost impossible to do anyhing outside the hotel. therefore you are forced to buy everything at hotel rates, including TV shows. i was amazed that you have to pay to watch tv that is free at flop motels. you cant even get a pizza delivered here. parking is expensive as hell. yes, you PAY to park here. what other hoetl charges a guest to park their car?
