You will be thrilled with appetizers such as fried shrimp with chorizo and aioli verde, Moroccan Pork Chop and assorted Spanish cheeses baked in olive bread crumbs. Cozy restaurant close to Vanderbilt campus. Food can be inconsistent, both in flavor and cooking while service can be a little spotty. However, the specialty martinis have always been quite good. Eating late on a Friday night, my table for two felt ignored in the corner. Wine list was decent, but I'd like to see better by the glass options.

Nice, intimate, casual setting in Vanderbilt/West End neighborhood. The food is very good but can be a little inconsistent. Sometimes it seems like they try a little too hard with certain flavor combinations. Average wine list, good desserts. Personal service.

I like clean flavors. The plates were way over the top,w/flavors that simply don't work. I had the pecan crusted beet salad-it read great on the menu & I was told that it was the best salad. Eh, it was ok. Too much going on w/ the 8 or so ingredients. I had the lamb tenderloin that came w/ a gr. cheese w/pancetta, eggplant, pepperoncini & on & on--Lamb was a CONDIMENT w/ a huge deepfried greasy fat laden sandwich. Won't go again. PUNY drinks.

I have dined twice at Zola. The first was wonderful, but the last time the meal and service were lacking a great deal. I recommend trying it and hope our next trip there will be as good as the first.

Great experience; pleasant, efficient service; fresh, flavorful food; decent, reasonable wine list. We were a party of three, but this would be a nice place for a first date or a romantic dinner. I will definitely go again when I'm in Nashville.

Great Mediterranean restaurant. The service is great and the food is reasonable in my opinion. We were seated right away the the food came extremely quick. Highly recommend for a night on the town with your loved one!

After visiting Rumba (just a few buildings over) and being horribly dissatisfied, we visited Zola for the first time. We ordered their Asparagus to nibble on while tasting their award-winning Quite a Pear Martini. The ambiance FAR surpassed Rumba. The decor was immaculate, waitstaff were attentive and polite, the clientele were effervescent, the martinis were to DIE for, and the asparagus was some of the best I have ever tasted. The host was amicable, full of wit and poise, answering our 100s of questions before sitting us. We could not have asked for a better redemption to the night than Zola. We will be returning.

I have had the greatest experience at Zolas. Ernie and Debbie Paquette are exceptional restauranteurs. The wine dinners are not to be missed. The wines are paired with each course of your meal and it is wonderful.

Wonderful!
By EB, 8/28/07
This place has excellent food, a fantastic atmosphere, and although it's pricey, it's worth it for an extra special night out. I had the pork, and my wife had the filet. Both could just melt in your mouth! Some of the flavors I wouldn't have put with the food we got, but if you're going to try something new, this is the place to do it! And get dessert--the portions are perfect!
