I know some like this place but my experience was pretty bad. I see from some reviews that it s not consistent so perhaps I was just unlucky but here goes; It was hot in the room, which I can forgive. The tables were dirty and had dried meat stuck to them. The lady at the register was extremely rude for no reason at all (probably hot and tired but that s not my fault). The beef brisket and pork shoulder were both dry and bland. I could have covered them completely in sauce but I wanted meat.. not sauce with bits of meat in it. :/ The cornbread was extremely dry and stale. I ve never had worse actually. The smoked sausage was actually good but I sure won t be returning to eat it again.
Hate to this folks but, It's not consistant....BBQ should taste the same each and every time that you have it. I've been to the one on Trinity lane to where it all started, at least 4/5 times, to try all the menu items. Not Impressed, had better
This place is very over-rated. The food is average at best. Forget about the sides. They are always cold. If you want friendly, good service...not your place either. The service here reminds me of a popular Seinfeld episode.
I travel the country and routinely go to Barbecue spots. Jack's is the best I ever have had. Best all around. Eat there and then go tell everyone you just had the best ever. You will be saying that- no lie!
This place looked pretty neat and smelled good from the outside, but turned out to be the worst restaurant I've ever visited. The servers don't wear gloves, cleaning chemicals were sitting out next to the napkins, and everything looked generally grungy. I ordered the beef brisket with green beans and baked beans. The beef brisket had such a strong metallic flavor that I would have thrown it away had it not cost me nearly $9. Every decent brisket recipe has in bold: DO NOT PREPARE BRISKET IN METAL CONTAINERS! Jack's has no excuse for not knowing this. The beans were straight from the can, chock full of salt. Believe me, Nashville has plenty of other great dining places, skip this one.
