Old Spaghetti Factory

Description

The historic Victorian structure houses Old Spaghetti Factory and is filled with antiques from the period. Classy enough for business lunch, yet casual enough for family dinner. Long Island ice teas flow like water from the romantic bar with love seats and intimate seating for couples. Families can eat an entire pasta dinner with salad and bread without burning a hole in the pocket! All together, it's a formula for success even in the touristy climate of Second Avenue.

Food was great! I must have eaten over 1000 spaghettis. The service and atmosphere were great too.

Spent 45 minutes here on Sunday, January 3rd, 2010. One of the first tables to arrive a little after Noon. Took 20 minutes to get drinks. Restaurant filled up after we got there. No bread or salad were ever delivered, even though almost every table around us had food. Spoke to manager who said he would check on our food. He then ran food to other tables and did not return to our table at all. We decided to leave around the 45 minute mark. Manager chased us out the door trying to figure out what was wrong, I told him he blew it. Worst service I've EVER had in a restaurant. I've been a waiter and bartender for 13 years and eaten in a lot of establishments. This was the worst experience I've ever had. The sad part is that we had two very hungry little girls with us and they had to sit there and see so many people around us, who had arrived a long time after us, eating while they sat there with nothing. Sorry to say I won't be back. This wasn't my first time there. I've had great food and service in years past, but this horrible experience has ruined the place for me.

I ate here this past Saturday. The atmosphere is great but the food is DISGUSTING! You would be much better off eating the pasta from a Ryan's/Shoney's buffet or making it yourself with ground beef, a jar of spaghetti sauce, and a box of pasta. Our meal started with a spinach and artichoke "dip". No lie, we were served a bowl of watery spinach "soup"- zero taste and completely inedible. We then got the salad- no problems whatsoever (how can you mess up salad anyway?) The ice cream and bread were fine as well. The pasta entrees arrive- cheap meats (meat sauce was full of fat, meatballs were tough, sausage was chewy), and watery and tasteless spaghetti sauce. Heck, even the iced tea was watered down. Think of the cheapest buffet food you have ever eaten and then bump that down a notch. Seriously... I know people are going to say "you get what you pay for", and in this case, it is absolutely true. If you want to bring the kids for a "night out" this is a cheap and suitable dining choice, but parents may want to eat beforehand because once you get to the Old Spaghetti Factory, you will leave feeling less than satisfied (and maybe disgusted if you are a picky eater).

The service was slow, extermely slow, we had a large party, only one server. Food was mundane, I ordered chicken marsala. The chicken was not pounded and was very salty. The sauce was not a wine sauce, but almost like a prepared brown gelatinous gravy. The sid eof spaghetti was cold and did not have but maybe a tablespoon of sauce.

Very Good
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/1/07
The factory has a great entrance and people are friendly. We waited less than 10 minuets on a busy night for a table and were served quickly. food was good for the price. Recommend it for before or after a show.

Hideaway place
By Nga H Le, 10/6/07
Located in one of the most exciting and busiest street of downtown Nashville second avenue or so called shopping district, The old spaghetti factory is really a hideaway place. It gives you a stop for rest from noise and hurry outside of the entrance. Victorian style is impressive, rich wood furnish, stained glass and especially collection of light features. I love it. The food is good, variety is not so big but OK for lunch. Service is friendly. It is quite loud by dinner time and requires reservation otherwise you have to wait for an hour or more...

Myzithra Spaghetti is the only thing worth it.
By Adriel O'Dell, 7/13/07
Nice as far as family dining goes, but it's kinda loud. the food could definitely be less "Stouffers" and more Authentic. If like italian go to Buca Di Beppo, if you like Americanized less than satisfying food eat here.
