Black-Eyed Pea Restaurant, Hendersonville

I eat there all the time... my favorite is their Shepard's pie.... and they have great fling tea or fruit tea or whatever they call it.... I say they are better then O' Charleys

We've eaten here for years. Rarely ever have less than great service. We regularly call in and pickup our order at the drive-thru window. I like that they do entertainment (usually solo acts). Highly recommended. The first guy's gotta just be a whiner...........

I have been to this place a total of two times and was miserable both times. While the food was excellent, the service was pathetic. I had to wait so long for my steak I was wondering if they had to wait on it to be shipped from Omaha, NB. My drink went empty on several occassions (this is a definite tip-shrinker), and the waitress bungled the majority of the orders (but at least she was friendly). I was hoping the first experience was just a Sunday afternoon rush issue, but read on... The second time I visited, there was live music & my wife and I decided to wait for a table within viewing distance of the stage. We were seated in the lobby to wait for the table. 45 minutes later when I inquired as to the approximate wait left, I found we had been marked off the list entirely. The hostest then proceeded to seat us in the back of ther restaraunt where we could not even HEAR the entertainment. We got up, walked out and have not returned since. In my opinion, this restaraunt is almost the worst of all worlds. It is little more than a place to be seen. It's only redeeming quality is the food. At least that was O.K.
