DON'T KNOW IF THE FOOD WAS GOOD OR NOT. WE ORDERED AND WERE OVERTAKEN BY SMOKE. THE WAITRESS BROUGHT THE FOOD AS WE WERE DECIDING TO LEAVE. I TOLD ME WE COULDN'T EAT IT BECAUSE OF THE SMOKE AND WAS HANDED MY TICKET ANYWAY. AS I CHECKED OUT I TOLD HER TOO THAT WE COULDN'T EAT BECAUSE OF THE CIGARETTE SMOKE AND SHE STARTED TO ARGUE WITH ME THAT IT WAS NO TOO SMOKIE IN THERE RIGHT NOW. 20 BUCKS LATER WE WERE OUT THE DOOR--NO BREAKFAST AND REEKING OF SMOKE. NO THANKS
Wow! Little Dick Russell's on Airport was the absolutely worst BBQ meal I have ever eaten. The sauce was horrible and had a chemical-ish aftertaste. My wife's 1/2 chicken was caked in sauce and the majority of the poor bird was tossed. The garlic bread was soggy and the taste was on par with the sauce. The sides were good, however. On a better note, the Press Register has reported that Shane's Rib Shack will be opening in the Copeland's building in the near future. I have eaten at the location in Chattanooga and it is wonderful. In the meantime, I will pay the extra money at the Shed or drive an extra 20 minutes to Dreamland.
Excellent food, service, and prices. You can't beat Dick Russell's for the portions of food they allow per plate. Courteous staff who take pride in waiting on their customers.
We're addicted to this country style cooking.
Passing through Mobile and asked the local's to recommend a nice place to eat and everyone we asked suggested Dick Russell. My extended family sat at a large round table with the kindest waitresses. We were near the kitchen and the smells from the cooking area were hmmmmmm good. The food was scrumptious. Best barbeque and seafood we've ever had. We lodged overnight in the area and had breakfast the following morning. I don't normally brag on breakfast but I have to brag on Dick Russell breakfast. Reminded me of my early childhood. If you are ever in Mobile AL go there to eat, you will not regret it.
We found this place on the way home. The pork was tender and absolutely wonderful. The beans were great! Coleslaw and potato salad were great! And the bread pudding was good too!! Reasonably priced and service out of this world. There are some restaurats out there that could learn a few things from this place!!!
Not impressed...the food was blah, the service was good. My husband and children went to dinner and were stinking of smoke when we left. Many of the patrons smoke and the food didn't taste good. I would have to say the baked beans tasted like they came out of a can, the cole slaw was tasteless. The bbq was boring and the sauce, absolutely terrible. I will never go back. Maybe breakfast is a different story, I've heard the breakfast is good, if you can put up with the non stop cigarette smokers. I will never know
