I don't usually write reviews, but I was so dissapointed in this restaurant, especially after reading all the raving reviews. I agree that having the owner greeting you and serving cocktails is intimate, but after that it went down hill. We ordered a bottle of red wine which came out warm-no it was hot-followed by a warm green salad. My wife and I had different fish entrees which were only OK- nothing special..After that I did not take a chance on dessert. One thing I can say is their entree portions were ample, but it did not make up for the mediocracy. Beware!

9/11/09 THE BEST MEAL I HAD IN MOBILE, AL. Reservations required. Save room for their fabulous made from scratch desserts! I had the lamb chops (medium) and they melted in your mouth. Salad was fresh (possbily growing their own greens?) with red vingarette or soup of the day, lentil. Side dish was noodles with vegetables including potatoes, squash, green beans, cauliflower & carrots, etc... My dessert choice was the white chocolate rum cake that was light, taste of rum and delicious! They have an extensive wine list. THIS RESTAURANT IS A HIDDEN JEWEL in Mobile. I wish there was a way to vist it again except we are from OHIO.

This was a such a treat. A relaxing intimate environment. The owners and their daughter were a joy to converse with. The food here is second to none. When I took a bite of my Tortellini i had to express the sound mmmm from the richness of the cream sauce. Would go back again and again!

The family who owns and manages Osmans are refugees who came to this country from Bosnia (I think) with their combined cilinary skills (Italian & French chef schools) and established THE BEST restaurant in Mobile. It is small and intimate, friendly and fabulous! They bend over backwards to meet theor customers' needs and desires. They usually have a vegetable of the day. One evening I was dining there and sort of moaned that I had hoped the vegetable of the day would be their WONDERFUL Brussel Sprouts. I forget what it actually was for that day. Lo and behold when my meal was served, I had BRUSSEL SPROUTS. Wow! Now where elase would that happen other than the BEST reataurant in Mobile. By the way, reservations are definetly a MUST! Try it, you'll LOVE it.

this is a small family owned business, but the food is excellent. i think the chef used to work for a renowned restaurant called the PILLARS, which is now called Justine's. I highly recommend Osman's. reservations are required.

This is a small place. It only has two dinner seatings at 6pm and 8pm. There is only room for about 20 people. Food is all cooked by one person. Consitency and quality are exceptional. Portions are huge. Highly recomend!
