Old Mexico Mexican Restaurant, Dothan

My meal was lousy. I ordered coffee because I was travelling, and the waitress said she was making a new pot, but she brought out extremely bitter coffee that tasted like the kind that's been sitting all day in the pot at the convenience store. The burrito and enchilada I had tasted pretty good at first, but the rice had a bad taste. Eventually, all the food developed at metallic taste, that I could not get rid of. I got ill on this food.

The service was crappy - the waitress was never around. No refills unless you tracked her down and asked. When we asked for more napkins, she brought us two dinky little napkins.... The chicken taco I had was okay but the enchilada was really gross. It had some type of sweet sauce on it - unlike any enchilada I've ever eaten, and it was terrible. The sweet sauce saturated my rice so I couldn't eat that, either. Even the salsa wasn't very good. I would recommend La Parrilla if you are looking for good Mexican, keep driving on when you see Old Mexico.

Don't know about their other dishes, but the nachos are horrible. Nice atmosphere, poor food. I've eaten there twice and both times were a big mistake.

Old Mexico is the only real Mexican resturant that me and my husband will eat at they have the best food around town and believe me i have tried all the other so called mexican resturants in town. Their Mexican style Chicken Finger dinner is the best. And their Strawberry Margarita is to die for.

Old Mexico is the best of all the Mexican Food Restaurants in Dothan. There are two different locations within the city. One is across from the mall and the other is on the main road across from Motel 6. The one by the mall is newer and not quite as good. If you want a great Tex Mex meal at a good price you should definately give them a try first. Their steak tacos are better than anywhere in Tx.

As far as the cleanliness of the restrooms I can say that it was never a concern with me. They were always clean and well kept. The food is excellent and the atmosphere was typical Tex Mex. There was always latin music playing in the background. The nachos are not that good, however the entrees were always first rate. I typically ate there at least once a week or more. I would recommend it to anyone that knows anything about real mexican food. If you want some bad food that caters more to americanized mexican food go to La Bamba across the highway.

Old Mexico is a locally owned restaurant that is fantastic. The atmosphere is great and the prices are reasonable. Our family of three can eat there for about $25. The chicken fajita burrito is out of this world! Everything we have eaten there is fabulous.
