Chris' Hot Dog, Montgomery

You guys need to understand that tradition is the important thing here. Back in the day when I was a typist for an insurance company on Dexter Avenue, we would all walk down to Chris's for lunch. I usually had on my three-inch heels and my beaufont hair-do. I remember Theo and Gus and the chili in a worm box! To come in here after forty years was a special treat for me. It isn't about magnificent food, it's about tradition and memories. Gus is gone now, but Theo, his brother, is still there and that says a lot. These guys knew how to get it done!!!

BARF!!! What a joke. I wish I could say the "food" was bad, but is MUCH worse. They have NO clue what chili is. That watery chili "stuff" is just plain awful. You get a better "burger" at Krystal! Been there 6 different times over the last 35 years, the most recent, August 2011.....nothing has changed food wise, maybe even worse! They bozo's operating Chris' have NO clue what good food really is! Save your money!!!

This place is a dive, but it has the best dogs and burgers in town. Just thinking about a double dog and double burger is making my mouth water right now. My wife doesn't love it because sometimes it can feel a little dingy, but my family has been eating here for over 50 years. Love it!

I went to Chris' once & that was one to many time!!! I walked in to this pine-sol & bleach place thinking maybe the food is good. WRONG!!! After seeing the lady not wash her hand after drippin a rag into the source of the smell that hit me soon as the door open, my stomach couldn't bare anymore. My friend treated me into trying it anyway, worst mistake ever, let me just say it didn't stay down very long. Signed tricked by a "friend"

Would the people of montgomery alabama like to see another hotdog company? If so what would you like them to sell just hotdogs are other things like hotdogs,bratwursts,italian sausage etc. would like to know your ideas.

The Best tasting Hot Dog, anywhere. Just drop by anytime you need snack or a meal. Very friendly, but I do miss Gus, from years, passed.. (the fifties). Dave L

Heaven on a bun! A Montgomery institution since 1917, Chris' Hot Dogs has some of the best hot dogs anywhere! The secret is in the sauce -- a slightly spicy chili sauce, that also tastes great on a hamburger. The location is right down the street from the state capitol, so if you're sight-seeing, be sure to check it out for lunch. Now if only they mail ordered them!

I go to Chris' when I want a quick lunch. I get the hot dog with the sauce, no beans, with kraut and mustard. This is to die for. My only issue with Chris' is their hygiene. The two ladies stand in a corner and fix your food. Their standing location is not hygenic and is by the cash register. I know Chris' would lose their customers if they change locations, but they need to have a cleaning service come in and clean and remodel the place. Pros: Cheap, good hot dogs Cons: The fries are hard and over cooked; the place is not that clean

By far the best hotdogs and hamburgers in the world. Every year as a child I had my choice of any resturant, and I always chose Chris'. Last year on the big 50, I chose Chris'.
