Of the several Chinese restaurants in Birmingham, AL, that my wife and I have tried, Ming's Cuisine is by far the best. We arrived in Birmingham in 1997 convinced that we would not find a replacement for our favorite Chinese restaurant in Atlanta. We stumbled upon Ming's and our first dish was the hot and sour soup. We were startled! It was the best of any we had ever eaten!
Food aficionados say that the quality of a chef can be gauged by the quality of the chef's stock. Ming's stock is superb -- not the heavy, often jellied, stuff that is served in many Chinese restaurants, but rather clear, rich, flavorful stock. Building upon stock, Ming's serves food that burst with flavor and freshness.
My wife and I have been eating at Ming's since 1997, and we have found that Ming's excels at another scarce restaurant characteristic -- consistent high quality.
Ming's service is friendly and professional. One always feels comfortable.
Try Ming's. You will be glad you did. You will return because dining at Ming's probably will spoil dining at any other Chinese restaurant in Birmingham.
My husband and I had our first date here, and the food is always good. We don't get to eat here much anymore since moving away from that part of town, but I love it so much. I would recommend it to anyone. It is definitely in my top 3 favorite Chinese restaurants.
My family's rule-of-thumb in judging a Chinese restaurant is the quality of the hot and sour soup. Ming's gets an A+ on that and every other dish we've ever eaten there - and we've eaten a lot in the last 7 years. The decor is interesting - they have a big carp vase I've coveted since I first saw it. The service is good (very friendly staff), and the food is always WONDERFUL. I'm heading out in a few minutes to pick up a take-out order, heavy on the hot and sour soup!
I love this place because the food is amazing. The prices aren't too amazing though, but believe me when I tell you it's well worthed. We try to eat there at least twice a month and we're never disappointed when we do. I highly recommend this place to any and everyone.
the food is great! i even like to get take out from this place. dinning there is just ok. it is not the best ambience place it is extremely casual but the food out performs the place. highly reccomend this place for intowners and outoftowners this is the place to go for that out of body experience chinesee food.
The value overall keeps us going back. The sweet and sour soup is excellent. The dishes are hot and always presented well. The atmosphere is exquisite. The dividers between sections are etched glass and natural wood sculptures. The walls and tables are clean and decorated beautifully. The food is, overall, above average. On more than one occasion I had to ask for a beverage refill. This is the worst thing I can say about Ming's.
