Shangri-la Restaurant, Irondale

Shangri-la is the greatest restaurant I have been to. It is also much better than Panda in Auburn.

I give Shangri-la Chinese Restaurant 5 stars Love it.

Incredibly bad customer service. Still trying to get a meal from here. If you call or go on weeknights, they'll tell you they just closed the kitchen a few minutes earlier -- but that they're open until 10 pm on Saturdays. If you call or go on Saturdays, you'll find, as we did tonight, that the kitchen closed at 9 pm. Not worth the trip -- if you can't count on finding them open when they say they will be.

Shangri-la has simply the best hot and sour soup on the planet. (Believe me I have looked) Their evening version sports shrimp and scallops. At night they make everything to order and don't have a problem with special orders. I personally prefer Hot and Sour made without the cornstarch so that it is more like the Thai version. Theirs is excellent that way and they have never once said no to that request in the 15 years I have been dining there. Also not to be missed are their sesame chicken, moo shu pork and crispy duck. Service is always excellent and they have fabulous fish tanks to brighten up the already pleasant atmosphere

By far the most consistant, delicious, and inexpensive food for the money. I was introduced to Shangri-La over ten years ago by two regulars;Hiram Williams, and Marty Lennard.

The food is absolutely wonderful and the employees are great! Wonderful for lunch and dinner. Service is quick and friendly. Adults and children alike will love the atmosphere. Salt water aquariums are beautiful!

I love LOVE this place! Lunch especially is such a deal. You get soup, eggroll, chicken wing and your entree. The hot and sour soup is to die for! If you havent been you must give it a try. I know I will not be eating Chinese anywhere else from now on!
