Pita Stop Cafe, Birmingham

I have been to many countries and eaten in many restaurants, but the Pita Stop in Birmingham, Alabama, is my all-time favorite place to eat on Planet Earth. Awesome food. Wonderful staff. Great prices.

Food was excellent.....the waiter was absolutely awful. He was not American descent and don't know his name because he didn't bother to tell us. We were brought to a table that was being cleaned and were left standing there till the table was cleaned. The waiter took our order and left, after a small wait our food arrived and we never had another word spoken to us by the waiter. There was however a table of 6 right next to us that he attended their every need, refilled coffee and water, whatever they needed, i was never asked if i wanted a refill on my coffee and we were never asked if our meals were ok. The absolute worst waiter i have ever encountered. It might have warrented if we had been rude or obnoxious, but we were not. We did not deserve the treatment we got from him. When we left and went to our cars, he came out apparently having just gotten off work and he glared at us as if we had done something awful to him. I didn't get it at all, or maybe it was because we were caucasian and he was not, the table he was giving such wonderful service to looked to be the same race he was. This is one restaurant i will never visit again.

Pita Stop is the BEST! Very consistent, fish specials are awesome - Monday is salmon day, others are mahi, grouper, tilapia. Ribeye sandwich to die for. Great for the health conscious

If you like seafood, you must try the Seafood Kabob

If you want ambiance, go to Morton's Steak House. But, for great affodable foos, the Pita Stop is the place. Clean, friendly and gracious service. We will definitely be back.

I have eaten at the Pita Stop for years...it is the best place to eat and I eat there every chance I get. It is my favorite restuarant. I live out of town now but every time I get the opportunity I go there to eat. I have never had bad service and the food is prepared when you order. Day time or Night....there has never been a change in the way the food is prepared and it is ALWAYS consistant!!! Without Fail! It is always pleasant...I would go for any occassion!

My husand and I have been going to The Pita Stop for over 20 years. We started visiting the Stop when we were in college. Now that we are working we still visit again and again. The Pita Stop just never lets you down: It's always clean and friendly; the food is always excellent and you can expect that every single time you visit! Thanks for being there!

We wanted a relatively fast place to eat something fresh and delicious at lunchtime and found it here. Crowded, but no wait to be seated and served. The lunch specials were excellent, service great, corny old-fashioned awnings inside charming in a strange sort of way, inexpensive and we enjoyed every bite. We wre even able to park in front. We can't wait to go back.

The food is the best Mediterranean food I've had. The restaurant is usually packed. I know that every time I go there it will taste as good as the last time I ate there. I grew up on the Gulf Coast and the fish served here easily beats any I've had anywhere.
