The atmosphere is great but the appetizers were flat out lousy. I ordered sesame tuna with brocolli and the new england clam chowder. The soup was horrible, the fish was fresh and I was somewhat happy that they finally knew how to cook broccoli. The manager was polite and was very concerned that we were not happy with the appetizers. The waitress was a complete idiot and had about as much experience as the cook in the kitchen. I would not go there for dinner. I would not recommend it for anything but a beer and the atmosphere.

Coming from Illinois again to area for 21st straight year. Shrimpers is by far our favorite, we probably eat there at least 15 times each February. Yes it's touristy but the Florida marina atmosphere is a lot better than snow and ice. I can't recall that we have ever had anything but good food and good service. I highly recommend Crunchy Grouper dinner. Hasn't been on menu for a few years, but ask and ye shall receive. On a warm night, be prepared for a little wait at the bar if you want waterside. There are plenty of heaters for cool nights. Yum Yum Can't wait!

I really liked the open air, waterfront atmosphere. The service was fast, friendly, and efficient. While the food is not gourmet quality, everything we ordered was well prepared and seemed fresh. We liked the Bahamian Conch Chowder, fried shrimp, and crunchy grouper sandwich the most. Prices were reasonable for the atmosphere and quality of the food. They also had some good drink specials, and a bucket of 4 beers for $10. I would recommend this place if you are tired of the big chain restaurants and want to enjoy a simple meal in a lively, Florida style eatery.

Don't get me wrong. We go to Shrimper's a lot. You can sit at the bar or by the water and enjoy dinner and a couple of drinks without having to hock the Subaru. I highly recommend the Sunset Shrimp Specials. You get soup or salad, bread, your choice of shrimp recipes like cajun, jerk, buffalo, garlic & herb or my favorite, coconut shrimp with a strawberry horse radish dippin' sauce, and your choice of fries, taters, veggie medley or rice all for *$9.95. *09/09/2005
