WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER! We had a party of 12 people who hadn t seen each other in years, so we wanted to all sit at a table where we could converse with each other & catch up. The restaurant was empty because it was between lunch & dinner shifts. So we found tables in the dining room that if we pushed together would seat all of us, and not block the walkway. We immediately were given attitude by the servers, and rudely told my boss is gonna have a FIT if I even ask him to do this . They acted like we were imposing. First they said they wouldn t do it because it divided two server sections. Then they said it was because they would lose seats by combining the tables, and it s season now, so we have to be able to use all the seats . Well guess what, I am a LOCAL which means I support the community ALL YEAR, so I guess my business is only important when it s not season and they re begging for customers. We asked to see a manager, and not only would he NOT speak to us, they wouldn t even give us his name! So whoever was in charge didn t even have the decency to talk to us. Then we were told we just don t move those tables together, we never have, and we re not going to start now . Another server had the nerve to say You know, your food is going to taste the same no matter where you sit. Seriously?! It wasn t about the food - we wanted to enjoy each other s company - not at two separate tables, not in the back room away from the dining room, and not at a long last supper style table where one end can t see the other. We had the perfect tables, and we were refused, and very rudely so. I have been in the restaurant business for over 20 years, and I have NEVER been treated so RUDELY by the entire staff, with the exception of the hostess and the bartender, who apologized for the incident. RUDE SERVERS and a very poor excuse for a manager!!
This restaurant has quality service and food. You do get what you pay for and that is an experience. I have not been to the restaurant in a few years, before 2004.
So, if it has changed I do not know. I just know that I had a great dining experience made even more spectacular with an excellent view.
They are mostly known for their excellent seafood BUT they do have other choices if a person is not into seafood. For a bit of history the restaurant was first called the Outrigger Resort and Marina in the mid 50s and founded by none other than Frances Landford. The restaurant has many photos of star as she was well known in the community.
The food is great and you can learn about Frances Langford and how she and her husband opened the restaurant by a different name(The Outrigger). It took a bad hit from Francis and Jeanne, but it is still up and running.
