This is not Southern cooking. I had the floured beef, sweet potato casserole, and the collard greens. The food is bland. The floured beef looked and tasted like something that was previously frozen. The sweet potato casserole tasted like a box sweet potato casserole. Finally the collard greens had no seasonings to it. Everybody that knows how to make collard greens knows that you have to season it with hog meat. They just boiled them in water without adding anything. Collard greens are not suppose to taste like boiled water. I have been wanting to try them for a while but, every time I drive by they are closed. I see now that I haven't missed anything.
This is a wonderful family oriented place to eat. Wonderful food and great service. I would highly suggest trying the County House. You will have a great country cooked meal and feel very welcomed and relaxed at the same time. My family and I enjoy going to the Country House and we know you will to.
