Nasty Steak and NOT worth the price!!! My husband and I went to Charlies Steakhouse in Kissimmee Florida during August 2004 for our Anniversary. We heard Charlies was a great place to eat. We were so dissappointed!! The steak was dry and chewy. They brought the steaks out too uncooked the first time and had to put them back on the grill. My husband's steak was already too crisp on the outside before the waitress took it back to the cooks to get the middle of the steak cooked. I overheard a waitress talking to the cooks that they needed to hurry because they were getting behind. The waitress still made us pay for the steaks and didn't offer to even bring us a different steak! My husband bearly took a bit of his before we left. What a waste of money on an expensive peice of rubber steak! We will never recommend Charlies and will never return. We will always recommend others to NOT go to Charlies ANY chance we get. Don't waste your money at Charlies.
I went to Charlies with my wife on 5/28/05. Oh my God! This was the worst steak we ever had. 1st of all, the service sucks, no presentation of any. No effort was made for any of this food. The steak was so tough I could not cut it, eat it or stomach it. The steak had some funkey, phoney smoke flavor. The steak had nerves, so many that it was like cutting through a fish net. Unevenly cooked, tough, bad tasting and overall disgusting. The potatoes augraten looked like an omelet, again, no effort, bad taste, low quality. The shrimp cocktail, 4 baby shrimp layed on top of chopped lettuce that looked like taco lettuce. Very poorley presented and small shrimp that sucked. The bread they call garlic, is cafeteria toast. The salad was bad. I have eating at Peter Lugas (my favorite), ruth cris, mortons, ben bensens, smith and wilenskys and so on. CHARLIES STEAK HOUSE IS THE WORST EVER! The outback which is low quality beef is far better than Charlies. The price is way off, I mean don't go! the service sucks, the servers don't dress nice for an expensive meal, there is nothing this place has, a total rip off and anybody who tells me it was just a bad night just does NOT know good food. This place charlies is really really bad.
We went to Charlie's on April 22,2005 for my daughter's eight birtday. Out of the four steaks ordered three had to be sent back. They all were over-cooked and truthfully the second ones should have been sent back but it was getting late and with small children we had to go. The staff ignored us and glasses went empty for long periods. The staff new they gave bad service and even though we were a small group they added 17% to the bill.
My family and I went to visit the Orlando FL Charlie's Steak house this Past September. The prices are fairly high considering all you get with your meal is a nasty wilted salad that seemed like it was my and dressed days before. Everything is Ala Carte and very expensive. Who is God's creation do they think they are offering a steak for $99??? BTW, that is not a 50 ounce steak. It is maybe 36 ounces.
I tried my father's Lobster tail that was supposed to be a 1lb tail, which was Maybe, I mean Maybe 8 ounces if that. No sooner did I eat that, about 15 mins later, I was so sick, I was vomiting and had very bad diarrhea too.
My mother ordered the Chicken and Pork chop. Well her meat was rock hard and dry. They at least took her's off the bill.
Our waiter was good. He was training, but the waitress training him, she was something to be desired.
there was a fire on the grill when we were there too.
The meat was tender inside but the outside of all of them was charred like it was burnt in a fire for hours.
We will never return.
Shame on Charlie's....
This steak was fantastic!! My husband and I both had steak it was cooked to perfection and tasted like no other. I am now always disappointed when I get a steak somewhere else because they don't measure up. Can't wait to go back and have lobster.
This was a nice place. Our family was excited to go and try one of the top ten steaks in the United States. I have to say, we're still trying to figure out why it was in the top ten. The waiter/waitress gives you a steak presention so you know exactly what you are getting. However, the steak tasted very normal without any seasonings for flavor. I would have preferred we went to a different steak house because of the disappointment in steak. It was way overpriced for basically just a steak presentation and not an exceptional steak.
We were on vacation in Orlando. Normally we go to Charlie's Steakhouse in Kissimmee but decided to try the one on International Drive. What a mistake. Though the restaurant is beautiful and the service was good, the steaks our party ordered was very disappointing. My wifes and my steak were not cooked to order. We both had Filet Mignon which was tough, very fatty and gritty. The rest of the party, six in total, had similar problems with the way there steaks were prepared. Next time back to Kissimmee. I hope this was a one time problem.
