Charley's Steak House and Seafood Grille - Kissimmee, FL
Charley's Steak House is owned by the Woodsby family and has operated in Florida since 1974. Charley's serves only three-year-old USDA prime and choice Angus steers, aging them four to six weeks for tenderness & flavor and hand-cutting the steaks daily to ensure consistent quality. The steaks are then flame-broiled over Florida citrus and oak wood in a custom-built pit at 1200(o) searing in the tantalizing taste that has made Charley's the #1 steakhouse in America every year since 2007! Charley's philosophy of providing only the finest extends from the kitchen to the wine cellar. The wine list approaches 500 selections from scores of exceptional wineries around the globe. Charley's has been recognized with numerous awards including "Best of Award of Excellence" from Wine Spectator magazine, DiRNA and Orlando Magazine's" Best Steak House & Best Old Favorite". Charley's has been creating fans from around the world for nearly 40 years. We look forward to having you become a fan soon!

My wife and I went to Charley's twice, in July 2008, during our vacation to the Orlando area. On both occasions the service, by Casey, was excellent. He was very attentive, and made some great recomendations. The steaks were some of the best we have had. We have been to this location several times over the the last several years, and this was one of the best meals we have had. I had read some of the negative reviews, prior to leaving for our vacation, and was considering not going back. I can tell you this would have been a mistake. I would recomend this restaurant and our server Casey anytime.
Went agin in July 2009, this time had Adam as our server. Again a wonderful meal, and the service was fantastic. As I stated last year I would recomend this restaurant and our server Adam anytime.
My husband and I have eaten at the OBT Charley's many times, and loved it. We recently moved to Celebration, and wanted to celebrate our anniversary at Charleys, so decided to try the one in Celebration on 192. It was terrible. Our waiter was pushy and tried to upsell us on every single thing. There was an extremly long wait for our salads, then an even longer wait for our dinners, which arrived cold. My husband's strip steak was over done, full of greasy, cold fat and he had ordered it medium rare. My mahi mahi was stone cold and undercooked. Our potatoes au gratin were beautiful, but cold. Our fire roasted vegetables consisted of raw onions and red peppers - nothing else. We sent our food back, but when it returned it was no better. My fish was still undercooked, only now it seemed oily. Our dinner cost over $100 without alcohol, and for that I expect much better service, and better food. I don't think that at 9pm I want to be surrounded with hot, tired sweaty tourists and their screaming children - I was surprised to see shorts and flip flops in Charleys! Overall, I'd rate this a minus 2 experience and we will never eat at Charley's in Celebration again.
Why can't restaurants impose some type of dress code these days? Shirts with collars and shoes and socks would be nice; people seem to be so insensitive to their surroundings. Charley's could have lived up to it's reputation, but instead this was worse than a visit to a chain steak buffet where I would expect all of the above. I realize that restaurants in the tourist district don't care if they ever see their customers again, and Charley's really showed this attitude.
I went there for my anniversary last year. Had a big stake and some 'gator. Enjoyed! But there was a table of gambling big spenders and staff were pre-occupied with ensuring they had a GOOD time (big tippers), left the rest of us feeling a little, in the way...............get it sorted!!! I may not go back as a result (I'm from the U.K)
The first time my husband and I ate here, about 6 years ago, it was excellent. We didn't expect such a nice place upon walking up, as we were tourists at the time, coming off a long day at Disney. We were just hungry - but this place impressed us! When we moved to the area in 2003, we ended up going to Charley's again for a birthday, and at the time they did honor the free birthday meal. Everything was great again...as this is such an expensive restaurant, we chose to save it for special occasions. The next, and LAST, time we ate at Charley's in 2004, we waited OVER AN HOUR for our appetizer (sashimi, which was good), and by the time our actual dinners were brought to us, they were COLD. We haven't been back since.
Nine of us went there on a Sunday - they don't honor birthday dinners like the OBT Charley's does. The steak I had was 1/3 fat and grizzle, the vegetables served with it, onions and peppers, were next to raw - like taking an onion out of the frig! Not a place I will eat at again or recommend.
great steak & tender too! Romantic dining, great sea food. Great service and good all around food. incredibly delicious steaks.
great steak & tender too! great steak & tender too! great steak & tender too!
I have eaten 3 times at this location. The first time it was around 10.30pm and we had to endure the vacuum cleaner whilst eating our meal. The second was ok but the last time we got dressed up and were prepared to really push the boat out as we wanted a special night out and were prepared to pay for it.
The waiter was more interested in another table and took his time in serving us.His face paled when he heard our accents(British). We ordered starters,a good bottle of wine and I was astounded that at 8pm they had no sirloin steak.
We ordered one medium and the other well done. When they came, mine was mooing and the well done one was pink.
It took us an eternity to get the waiters attention and he was not happy having to take it back.He practically threw it at us!The vegetables were expensive and badly cooked.
I know that most Brits are rotten tippers but we have lived in Florida for over 10 years and travel worldwide due to work.
Needless to say he didn't get much of a tip as the service & food we got was lousy!!
Third best? Third from bottom maybe!
