After reading a few reviews, I decided on a pizza night and ordered a large pepperoni & mushroom to go. Had a draft beer in a chilled mug while waiting for my takeout. Nice place, Nice layout with a few booths. Pizza and beer came to $14 and change. A good deal and a really good pizza.
I have to go back to try one of those sandwiches everyone talks about.
this place is awesome ! I have been eating here since I was a little girl, probably about 6 or 7 yrs old is when I fell in love with their gondola's lol I am now 30 and still cant get them outta my system a great place to eat quiet and they have great service !!!!!
Didn't want to do a review on Votino's because I wanted to keep it a secret place that wouldn't be packed to the door when I got there. Anyway, here goes my secret. Ever since the early 60's I've been eating here. It's the gondola that keeps me coming back. Granny use to serve use with her not so friendly approach but it was all in fun. She meant no harm and it made the wait worth it. But we did like the abuse. Anyway, Granny has since passed away but the excellence in preparing the gondola continues.
Early 2009 was a bad year for Votino's since they suffered a fire that damaged just about everything in the place. Mr. Votino said he had just renewed his insurance policy two weeks before the fire and his agent warned him he was underinsured. “Who thinks they are going to need insurance,” he said. The fire ended up costing him about $60,000 out of pocket in addition to what his insurance covered.
In November 2009 they reopened the doors However, Votino has only raised menu prices by about 25 cents. You can still get a 9-inch brick oven pizza from $3.50 and a 12-inch Gondola, on homemade bread with ham, salami, provolone cheese, banana peppers, pickles and Votino’s signature sub sauce for $5.25. A full spaghetti dinner costs about $7.25.
Votino’s is open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. weekdays and 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday. It is closed Sunday.
I just called and asked for some baked ziti. They didn't have any! couldn't believe it. an Italian restaurant with no baked ziti! I thought the girl on the phone couldn't hear me so I spelled it out... B-A-K-E-D Z-I-T-I. no we don't have it. 8o
Gondolas are great though
I'd say you should have an online menu, but everytime I drive by the place its packed, so i guess you don't really need the business.
