I've traveled far and wide across this great country of ours. Nothing compares to this place. Sweet Tea, wet burritos, kick ace nachos, good service and great prices. Anyone who's had the privilege of eating here will agree, one of a kind. Best food I've ever had - Without a doubt.
This place is great. I've been coming since I was a kid and I can't imagine not having it in my life. I've been to a lot of Mexican restaurants all over this country. N.C., Los Angeles, San Francisco, NY, Michigan, Georgia and even Texas, yes even Texas, has nothing on Los Cocos.
So that you are aware Los Cocos is Tex-Mex and it's honestly one of the original Tex Mex places dating back to the 1980s. This is before Chilis and Chevy's made their crappy entrance into the Tex-Mex America that we now know.
The flour tortillas are seriously the best I've ever had. Not even my Aunts or Mom have made better tortillas! The best part is they make them in house! What! This is important because most people, especially Americanos, overlook the fact that tortillas are a staple in Mexican food and need to be good. If you look at cheap tortillas you can see that they're see through and almost feel like wax. Real tortillas like Los Cocos has are made from flour and water. They're made fresh and not shipped on a semi truck in a plastic air tight bag. Those are NOT fresh!
Los Cocos make their salsa as well. If you want HOT like I do, go for the Green! The Green salsa is a super heat that sneaks up on you. Its amazing and if you ask them for a wet burrito made with green sauce you'll be in flavor county. My personal favorites are the Nachos and Fajitas. This is where Los Cocos really shines. If all you want is a hard shell taco, they have that but come on! A hard shell taco at a Mexican restaurant such as Los Cocos. Is like ordering a salad a fancy steakhouse. So go for the gold and get the nachos or a fajita! A wonderful place that will leave you craving it a day later.
We've been going to this restaurant for over 25 years. The food is good and the prices are inexpensive. If you want one of the glorified taco factories this is not the place. This place is quaint and family oriented.
Deeelicious!!! Excellent Food Service & Value! So good it's addictive! My favorite's are the Spicy Grilled Chicken and Fajitas or T-Bone plates! No other totillas can ever compare to their homemade Flour ones! They make them everyday! Outstanding!
I'm hungry now!
My friend and I went here for lunch last friday. The service was fast and friendly. The menu may be a bit limited, but it was good. I ordered a taco salad and it was large and tasty. Having a bit of the Celiac's disease, the salad being served with corn chips made it palatable. Our drinks were constantly refilled without having to ask, and the food was great. I'll come back again and again!
This spot has been around here as long as I have and everyone loves it ! This is a classic example of a small town restaurant that is small and really successful ! They concentrate on serving great food and that's it. Hard - working family, great food, great job !
