Hiro's Tokyo Japanese Steak, Tarpon Springs

My wife and I love this place.Everything about it. the food, the service. Only problem is there is no liquor, so it's sake, beer or wine. Hiro and his employees(That took over in June) have had a reputation for great food and sevice for years in Tarpon. The only problem is I live right in between the two of his restaurants. I have to decide which one to go to!!!

I guess my wife and I have held much loftier expectations of the restaurant that boasts authenticity. Forget about the service, because there's none to write about. We stood like a bunch of fools at the greeting stand for 15 minutes while the place was virtually devoid of people (Thursday night) and NO ONE approached us to lead us to the table. The main dining hall is looked plain & unremarkable, dirty dishes piled up on most tables, lazy waitresses dressed in traditional kimono stood outside smoking cigs. The staff was staring at us as if unwelcome guests. After a while we chose to sit outside and regretted it even more. The server tossed the menus to us and disappeared back inside leaving us to wait another 10 minutes without asking even a few simple questions. We got up and left the place exteremely disappointed. Did not even want to order the food we came for. The positively WORST service ever!!! The food may be good but the staff is NOT HAPPY to SEE you there! We will never return to this place.

it is a lovely enviroment very good service. Their sushi is awsome. Pasta is pretty good too. Price was also better than other sushi places around.
